The place breathes nature. As soon as you look out of the windows or step out of the door, you will feel surrounded by it. The guest house is fully detached from the main house and is comfortable, cozy and spacious. The house has a master bedroom with a queen size and a twin bed. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds and there is a common space which can be used as a third bedroom as well with a queen size bed. The space Our property is situated in a mountainous area with the beautiful Shuswap River (one of the most pristine rivers left in the whole of Canada) running through. It's a place that you won't find anywhere else. On the other side of the river lies our "backyard", where wildlife still has a place to go. If you like nature and adventure you will find yourself in the right place. Only a 50 minutes drive from Vernon you will find this piece of paradise where you can experience everything you want to make your holiday the best you've ever had. The Shuswap river that runs through our property is a great feature. It's a joy and sometimes a challenge to let yourself float downstream on a tube or canoe on this fast running river. In and around our private swimming hole you can enjoy the tranquility of this beautiful river. We have numerous hiking possibilities in the vicinity of our property. You can even bring your own horses to explore the area. Never ridden a horse? We could give you riding lessons in the round pen and depending the skills we could take you out for a ride. (Both for additional cost) In winter go set your own cross country trail or take the hour and a half drive up to Silver Star to go to tube town, ski downhill or simply enjoy the colourful village. Closer to home are possibilities for heli and cat skiing Cherryville is hard to describe, the locals call it " a state of mind" . The total area includes about 400 square km inhabited by 936 people. With multiple lakes, the beautiful and clean Shuswap River and lots of mountains that surround us it makes it an excellent place to stay We're willing to assist you in finding the optimal program for you if you want to get to know the area a bit more. If you like the tranquility and the soothing sound of the river or want to gaze at the starry skies at night, you're in the right place. Guest access You may have access to our private swimming hole if desired. It's also a joy to let yourself float downstream on a tube or canoe on this fast running river or try to get a nice trout, sit around a bonfire which can also be used as a barbeque. Feel free to go for an easy morning stroll right in front of your door, on nicely maintained trails.. Other things to note Hot tub. We have a chemical free wood fired hot tub at the river, filled with river water, which we will fire up for you when you book in the winter months. The tub is available during the weekends one time per day. It will be fired up and will be ready at a by you and us agreed time. You can sit in it as long as you want. It will cool down while you are using it since the wood stove won't be maintained during use but it will retain the heat for at least 2/3 hours depending weather situation. The tub can be used 3 max 4 days before it has to be cleaned. Due to the set up of the stove we are not allowing the guests to maintain the stove themselves. We have a 3 person canoe available for you (but no roof rack) or if you want to explore the area by bike, we also have some mountain bikes. Please inquire for extra (reasonable) costs. Our whole property is a non smoking area, inside and out. Pets are welcome but there could be an additional cost. Please inquire if interested. . Cars can be parked on the property. We'd appreciate our privacy during the evenings and nights and please keep things quiet between 10 PM and 6 AM. The stair to the first floor is steep and might be a problem for young kids and elderly people. The bathroom is located on the main floor. The kitchen is compact but fully equipped. Available appliances are a fridge/freezer, electric cook top, microwave and a slow cooker. (No regular oven and gas barbecue available).
