The Stone House

Stunning panoramic views of the Garfagnana mountains from this newly renovated farmhouse with an above ground pool and wrap-around terrace. The house is located in a rural lane which offers complete peace and quiet but also close enough to the bustling village for eating out, coffee shop, local vineyard and enjoying weekly entertainment in the village square. Swim in the nearby lakes, hike in the mountains, eat mushrooms, truffles, wild boar, local cheeses and salamis. The space Inside the house we have a fully equipped kitchen, high speed wifi, smart TV and a dining room that seats 10. If you do require a desk for any remote working, there is a perfect place in the lounge to set up your laptop. Leading off the lounge we have our first kingsize bedroom with double doors leading out to the courtyard front garden. Each of the bedrooms has its own ensuite bathroom with walk in showers, toilets and basin. The second kingsize bedroom is located again on the ground floor at the back of the property. This has views over the pool and the meadow at the back of our house. The interiors are all colour matched with the bathrooms giving a beautiful calm and unique feel to the house. Access to the ensuite for this room is inside the room allowing for complete privacy if you decided to share the house with extended family or friends. Entrance to the property is through two double doors into a wide hallway, stone floors flow through each of the rooms. Access to the lounge from the main entrance has two large sofas, coffee table, smart tv and a desk for remote working. There are double doors that lead out onto the courtyard front garden and when you are looking for a cooler area to chill out, having the doors open and relaxing on the sofa's is a perfect space. On the right as you enter the house is the kitchen, the hub of the social area. This is a large space with two electric ovens, large double fridge freezer, gas hob, wine cooler fridge and plenty of space to prepare food. The kitchen is fully equipped with essentials to cook and present your Italian feast. From the kitchen here is a large opening with steps that lead down to the taverna (dining room) this large room has a dining table large enough to seat 10 people comfortably. The windows of the taverna look out over the external seating area and have double doors that lead out to the garden and pool. There are three bedrooms located upstairs of the property, each room has two single beds in each room (6 single beds in total). Two of the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, dressing tables and ensuites with showers, toilets and sinks. Each of the rooms either have beautiful views of the meadows or the mountains. It is worth noting, the house is located in a rural mountain area, on a rare occasion, the water pressure might drop due to location but is only for a short period of time before the pressure is restored. Surrounding the house are many opportunities to sit and take in a different view. We have a large pagoda over our outside dining area, the outside dining table seats 10. The above ground swimming pool is near to the dining area, the pool measures 3 x 5 meters and has steps leading up and down into the pool. We had a integrated seat inside the pool so you can enjoy the view whilst enjoying your aperol spritz. Please use the pool/garden specific glasses to avoid any breakages in and around the pool area. PLEASE NOTE: the pool will be closed between October - March. The house has 3 acres of meadow fields so you will have the opportunity to see lots of wildlife, including the resident badger and deer that often visit our garden. There is parking for your car near to the property and then, you are completely immersed in nature with not light pollution so the night sky really is spectacular. Guest access Guests have full access to the house and gardens. Other things to note Our house is located down a rustic lane which we recommend a suitable car to access the property. This is a rural setting so care must be taken when driving down to the house to avoid any disturbance of the local wildlife, deer are often seen on our lane and in our garden so you are able to watch them from a distance.
