Description

Enjoy a peaceful retreat at Casa Edera – a charming stone house near Sessa, Switzerland. This spacious house with numerous rooms offers all the amenities required for a comfortable vacation. Sleep with open windows, dine in the outdoor Rustico, and let your kids play in the large yard. An ideal holiday destination for families and friends looking for a relaxing getaway. The space First Floor 1) Dining Room 2) Kitchen 3) Bathroom with Shower Stall Second Floor 1) Bedroom 1 - this bedroom has a King sized bed (as is typical in Europe this means that two full beds are pushed together to form a King) 2) Bedroom 2 - this bedroom has a King sized bed (as is typical in Europe this means that two full beds are pushed together to form a King). To get to this bedroom you need to walk through bedroom 1. As is typical in these old Ticino houses, the parents/kids bedrooms are attached. 3) Bedroom 3 - Balcony Room - this room has a great little balcony looking out on the Italian Alps. It has a single bed, with another single tucked underneath that can be pulled out for a second person. If both beds are out the room is tight, but the Balcony adds a lot of space 4) Bathroom with a tub shower Third Floor Bedroom 4 - This is a very unique part of the house that feels like an outdoor, covered terrace. There is a coffee nook where you can rest and listen to the birds, the babbling brook or the rain. In the middle of the terrace is another bedroom that is fully enclosed and has a big window facing the front of the house. This room has two single beds. Yard The yard is big and beautiful and looks out on the Italian Alps. There is a wood burning pizza oven, and a beautiful old Rustico. A Rustico is a typical Ticino old stone building that was used for storing wood and hay. Covered in grape vines, this has been turned into an outdoor dining area with a beautiful view out to the valley. Mosquitoes It is rare that mosquitoes and wasps will impact your stay, but there will be certain times in the season where you will experience more than other times. Guest access Guests have full access to the house. The stairwell between the floors is shared with the adjacent house, but you will rarely meet the neighbors. There is one room on the Rooftop Terrace that is locked for storage purposes Other things to note ROAD CLOSURE one year ago there was a rockslide on Via Buseno. This rockslide is further up the road between our house and Sessa. To access the house and the parking with the car one should come from the bottom of the hill. Turn UP Via Buseno at the restaurant Calypso. This will allow you to drive right to the house. At the moment there is a path that locals use to walk to Sessa from the houses in our neighborhood, but this is at your own risk. You cannot drive to Sessa on the road Via Buseno. ROADS Ticino has very narrow roads as soon as you go up into the mountains. Our road is no different and really is part of the charm in this area. You can easily drive up to the house with normal sized cars. Vans are also fine. Driving a utility van (such as a VW T4) can be difficult, but it is doable. the parking spot holds two normal sized cars. BEDROOMS As is typical in these old ticino houses, two of the bedroom are attached. You need to walk through bedroom 1 to get to bedroom 2. CHECKOUT Please make sure you do not leave anything behind. We will not be able to send you the items after you leave. Registration Details NL 00009537
