Oceanfront Guest House near Peggy's Cove

This 1680 sq ft guesthouse has its own private path to the oceanfront, a 2nd storey deck with panoramic views of Indian Harbour. It is situated 4 kms from Peggy's Cove, and is within an hour of Halifax and Lunenburg. The property is surrounded by trees, and the only sounds are from the waves and the wind. Hiking trails are located at Polly's Cove & Peggy's Cove, sandy beaches are just a 5-40 min drive, and Oceanstone Spa Resort is a 5 min walk. It is ideally suited for stays up to 3 weeks. The space This is an 1680 sq ft modern three-storey guest house, named "Ross Roost", which was built by the owner, a master carpenter, in 2010. It has a 2nd floor deck to enjoy outdoor meals, and it has a large screen TV and board games to enjoy the indoors on rainy days. The oceanfront view of Indian Harbour and Paddy's Head Lighthouse from the deck is stunning year-round. Most rentals in the area do not enjoy the level of privacy this property offers, or this level of intimate access to the ocean. Though the guest house is located on the owner's property, it maintains a distinct separateness and privacy from the owner's space. All spaces dedicated to it, including its own path to the ocean, are solely for the use of the guests. People can kayak or scuba dive safely from a small sandy beach on a road .5 km away: Paddy's Head Rd. There are restaurants close by, and Oceanstone Hydrothermal Spa and Restaurant is within a 5-minute walk. Ryer's lobster pound is a 5-minute drive, where you can get lobster and mussels year-round to cook up your own feast. Visit the local antique shop on your way to Peggy's Cove, and once in the Village of Peggy's Cove, you will find many gift shops and restaurants. Guest access The three-storey guest house is entirely for the guests with a 1st floor bedroom downstairs with a queen-sized bed, and a 2nd bedroom, located in the 3rd floor loft furnished with a king-sized log-framed bed, which overlooks the main living and dining area. The bathroom, located on the 2nd floor, includes a spa tub and a walk-in shower. Private laundry facilities are located on the 1st floor. Though families are most welcome, it should be noted that we do not provide equipment for infants or toddlers, as we have two long flights of stairs, and the oceanfront is formed by granite boulders, which may be difficult for small children to navigate safely. Aside from the beautiful summer months, September and October are two of the best months to visit Nova Scotia as the weather is good, the ocean water has been warmed, it is quieter, and the trees are turning a multitude of fall colours. Other things to note Guests must be aware that the listed check-out time of 10:00 am must be strictly adhered to to allow for thorough cleanings between guests. It should also be noted that the driveway is uneven in spots, so low-riding vehicles are not recommended.
