Description
Welcome to our charming woodland cabin nestled on the shore of Toddy Pond! Maple Cove Camp offers a picturesque setting for a peaceful lakeside getaway or a starting point for your Maine adventure. Recently updated, the cabin rests on nearly 4 acres of waterfront property, granting direct access to the lake. Conveniently located just a short drive from Ellsworth and Bucksport, and only 45 minutes from Acadia National Park, our camp promises both serenity and convenience for your vacation needs. The space Overview: Stay among the tree tops in our second story one-bedroom loft on the lake. Perfect for couples, this cozy space has a comfortable queen-sized bed, a small sitting area with a couch and Roku TV, a kitchen stocked with all of the necessary essentials and bathroom with a standing shower. There also is a collection of our favorite board games for you to enjoy. It’s a relaxing spot to catch up on rest, unwind and enjoy the great outdoors within close proximity to nearby town amenities and a short drive from Acadia National Park. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck, relax next to the firepit, or follow the gravel path that leads to the dock on Toddy Pond. Waterfront: The camp is perfectly situated on the northeast cove of the pond. The cove is shallow at this point, making it ideal for launching a kayak or paddleboard to go explore the lake, though not ideal for swimming. There is a sandy beach we recommend that is excellent for swimming less than 15 min away. Our position on the lake is peaceful and private with no motor boat traffic to disturb your stay. Outside: On the deck there is a sitting area by the entrance to the kitchen with folding chairs that you can bring out as you’d like. The camp features a fire pit area with a solo stove for you to enjoy the Maine night sky and listen to the soothing sounds of the loons. Kitchen: The kitchen space has a refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, Keurig and French press, as well as dishes, glasses, and utensils. We provide K-cups, tea, sugar, honey, salt, pepper and assorted spices. The ceilings are a little low along the sides of the loft so we recommend only using the front two burners of the stove for comfort. Bathroom: Small bathroom with a standing shower, sink and toilet. Toilet paper, bath towels, and hand towels are all provided. We stock shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathroom as well as provide a hair dryer for your use. Downstairs: The first floor below the loft is currently unfinished and unoccupied. We hope to expand the downstairs of the cabin to include more bedrooms in the near future, so check back with us as we continue to make improvements! Guest access Dock: Our neighbors across the street and their guests have access to the lake via a right of way next to the property. They share the path to the water as well as the metal dock and bench by the lake. You will likely not run in to them during your stay, but they are very lovely people so feel free to say hi if you see them in passing! Firepit: The firepit and chairs are private and reserved for your use only. First Floor: The loft is built on top of a garage space but the garage is only used for storage and will not be accessed by anyone while you are staying at the camp. Other things to note Getting Here: The cabin is located down a short gravel road not too far off of Route-1. There is a hill at the beginning of the gravel road when turning off the paved road. We recommend 4-wheel drive during snowy months but please reach out to us if you have any questions. Parking: There are two main entrances to the camp off the gravel road, both marked with the house number and reflective red markers. We ask that you please try to avoid using the lower driveway (the one closer to the pond) unless absolutely necessary as it goes directly over the septic system and can damage the tank. The upper driveway is new and is perfectly acceptable to use, we just have not had time to remove the lower one yet. Thank you for helping us out with this! Boating: Kayaks/paddleboards are available for rent from several local vendors. We are happy to point you in their direction if you are interested! Next to the dock, there is a newly constructed kayak rack available for your use as well. Wifi: Most cell service providers get great reception in the area, but we still recommend taking screen shots of the check-in instructions just in case you need to access them before connecting to the WiFi. Heating/Cooling: If you would like to control the temperature of the space, we request that you please use the mini-split system in the kitchen. It is capable of operating in both heating and cooling mode and comfortably conditions the entire space. The wall-mounted Rinnai heater is reserved for winter use. Doorbell Camera: Lastly, for the safety of our guests and the security of our camp, Maple Cove Camp has a single doorbell security camera by the top entrance door. We only use this to know when packages arrive while the camp is unoccupied, everywhere else on the property is completely private. Thank you for your understanding!
