Experience the quiet serenity of a secluded log cabin on 10 beautifully wooded acres with hills, woods and lush countryside nestled between Charlottesville and Richmond. Only 5 minutes off Route 64, 25 minutes to Short Pump, and 2.5 hours to Washington, DC. Come enjoy this peaceful oasis. The cabin is part of a horse farm but has its own driveway and is set back against the woods for complete privacy. Pets are welcome as there is a fenced in yard, doggy door, and ability to board horses. The space Over 2700 sq. feet, 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, large living room, modern kitchen, breakfast nook, dining room, multiple porches, and library. The cabin has high-speed internet, a dedicated work space, and privacy. Comfortably sleeps 6, can sleep 8. The main bedroom is its own suite with queen bed under a vaulted ceiling, fan, and sky lights. The main suite has a full bathroom with a walk in shower, and a three-season porch. The living room has a 68" smart TV above a large, wood-burning fireplace. The living room has a vaulted ceiling, sky lights, and a ceiling fan. The kitchen has modern appliances, including a convection oven, high-end stove, microwave, dishwasher, and a coffeemaker. It comes fully stocked with cookware, dishes, utensils, etc. The kitchen opens to a breakfast nook that sits 6. There is a separate dining room that seats 8 and has a wood-burning fireplace. The main floor has two additional half bathrooms, one off the dining room and the other off the living room. The main floor also has a library with a pull out sofa that can sleep an additional two guests. Upstairs are two additional bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with two twin beds. There is a full bathroom upstairs. Please note that the stairs are steep to the upstairs. There is a front porch, screened in front porch and back porch. The back porch overlooks the fire ring and pollinator garden and is surrounded by woods. Heating and air conditioning supplied by brand new Mitsubishi split-units, as well as furnace and baseboard heating. The cabin has a back-up generator and washer/dryer on the main floor. Pets welcome. Outside, there are two different fenced-in yards. The back half of the cabin is fenced in and doggy-door accessible. Additionally, there is a field, approximately 1 acres, just beyond the cabin, that is fully fenced in and available as a dog run. Guests also have access to the over one-mile of hiking/riding trails in the woods on the property and can visit the horse pastures, apiary, and pond that are on the property. Ample parking available, can accommodate RVs and trailers. Guest access The cabin has its own long, gravel driveway. Guests have full access to the cabin (except for the small, unfinished basement), the 10 acres surrounding the cabin, and can also access the trails and other amenities on the larger horse farm. Other things to note Horse Boarding – Stalls (12x12) or pasture turn-out with run-ins are available and seamlessly located on adjacent property. Bring your horse and enjoy the use of 100x200 stone dust competition size arena, the 70’ round pen, or trails (~1 mile). Trailer out to a variety of wonderful local parks for longer rides. Interested in lessons in dressage (trainer is a USDF Bronze Medalist), liberty, or connection work? Please inquire! Fees: Boarding ($20/night); Lessons ($50/hour). Horse Experience – Don’t have a horse, but would like to have an experience with one? Please inquire and we can adjust to your interests (no experience required). While we do not do guest trail rides, we can guarantee the horses will not disappoint! Fees: $50/hour/person. Farm Experience – Would you like to step into the shoes of an animal caretaker for a moment? Horses, chickens, dogs, cats, and bees – we are happy to have you help us take immaculate care of the critters and gardens (both vegetable and wildflower) and answer any homesteading questions. Fees: $50/hour/group. Dog Care – Need to leave your dog for a bit? Have no fear – we can provide an indoor/outdoor kennel, check water, feed, give them a walk, run them in a fenced in 1-acre pasture, anything you need to keep them happy. Fee: $25/day. Stock the Kitchen – Truly looking to arrive and have everything in place? Please inquire and we are happy to have the kitchen stocked and ready upon your arrival. Make selections and place your order through Wegmans and we will pick it up and get the kitchen ready for you. Fee: $50/pick up.
