The Bunkhouse at Sage Farm, located within the Red Mountain American Viticulture Area, offers a cozy space with amazing views of Red Mountain, Horse Heaven Hills, orchards, & vineyards. If you travel light and want to live like a local this is a great stay for you. Have coffee on the porch. Enjoy the views. Thumb through the small library. Explore nearby wineries. Rest. You'll feel refreshed when it's time to saddle up and hit the trail. The space Sage Farm is a rustic, ten-acre farmstead located at the base of Red Mountain. Much of the original 1978 layout and outbuildings have been preserved. There are cultivated and natural wildland areas all of which support pollinators and local wildlife. Once a thriving commercial flower farm, garden areas are currently being brought back to life. The property has a pastoral feel providing a rare glimpse into Red Mountain history. The Bunkhouse: Cozy. Comfortable, queen size bed. Suitcase rack, hangers, and hooks easily accommodate those traveling light. Original western art throughout. High end fixture finishes. Vintage bed coverings and quilts. Bath & Body Works foaming hand soap, face and body washes provided. Keurig coffee service is complimentary. A French Press coffee maker and electric tea kettle are included for guests preferring to bring along their own coffee or tea. A drip coffee maker is available upon request. Entertainment: The eclectic book collection has something for everyone. Play card games (two decks of cards and five dice provided). Bird watch. Take walks. Chat with the horses. Enjoy the views. No TV. Other general information: The firepit is open for the Fall/Winter season and can be used unless it is too windy. Firewood provided. Please ensure fire is completely out and ashes are cool before leaving the firepit unattended. A water can on the porch can be used for this purpose. All driving and walking surfaces are gravel or woodchip covered. There are no sidewalks or designated walking paths, so sturdy shoes are recommended. Two friendly red heeler mixes are kept in their pen when outside during the day and are brought inside at night. A cat conducts early morning patrols of the farm. Two Quarter Horse mares enjoy the easy life. Guest access Guests have access to several outdoor seating areas. If you have sturdy shoes and feel comfortable walking on uneven surfaces, feel free to walk on wood chip-covered paths. Other things to note Blinds are light filtered, not blackout. There is a mirror over the bathroom sink but no makeup or full-length mirrors. In response to frequently asked questions, and to perhaps help save time deciding if this is the best stay for you, please note the following: - For a number of reasons pets are not allowed. Thanks for understanding. - Check in is any time after 2:00 pm (which is one to two hours earlier than nearby stays). Early arrivals can't be accommodated. - Smoking is not allowed inside the bunkhouse. There are outside tables located close to the bunkhouse where guests can smoke comfortably. - Occupancy is limited to a maximum of two people who feel comfortable sharing a queen-sized bed.
