The open kitchen, the fireplace in the central room, and the terrace overlooking the mountains offer exquisite spaces to share. The space In Piemonte, guests are guaranteed pleasant and unforgettable moments, both in the privacy of this spectacular house with large spaces decorated with eclectic pieces, art and antiques, and if they decide to go out and explore the picturesque village, accessible just by opening the front door of the accommodation. From here, you can walk in a safe and festive atmosphere through the village of Concepción de Ataco, discover its charms and learn about its history. On the east side of the village, a few meters from Piemonte Casa, is the El Calvario church, easy to locate due to its colonial appearance with a beautiful blue and white facade and its haughty dome and bell towers. Small but historic, it was built in 1876 and demolished, largely, in 1953 for reasons of widening surrounding streets, but in 1959 it was rebuilt by the Catholic community. On the back side of the church, concrete steps and a path lead up the hill to another unmissable attraction: the Mirador de la Cruz del Cielito Lindo, with its large white cross, visible from the center of the village. Although the trail allows you to ascend by car, a 10-minute walk is the most fun and healthy way to get to the cross, a point from which you get a perspective of the entire village, between forests and mountains, some green and reddish and, the most distant, in gray and blue tones, depending on the light. Ataco celebrates Catholic traditions with fervor and every year, on May 3, Day of the Cross, the faithful walk to this white cross that they adorn with colored pennants and the parish priest officiates the Holy Eucharist there. In Ataco, the cool weather lasts all year round, making it even more pleasant to walk through its cobbled streets. Walking five blocks east of Piemonte Casa you reach the heart of the village where the Central Park, with kiosk, fountain, benches and flowered gardens and the iconic Immaculate Conception of Mary church, make up the main square. This is an excellent point to go to get to know and join the cheerful street activity that extends to the old platforms and portals of the houses, many with colorful murals on their facades. There they sell art and coffee, there are shops with crafts, jewelry, clothing, loom fabrics, plants, flowers, natural products, sweets and typical snacks. There are also restaurants, small bars and cultural clubs. Other things to note During your stay, it will also be easy to explore other destinations on the Ruta de las Flores (Flower Route) located a short distance from your accommodation. Go ahead and schedule a coffee tour either at "El Carmen Estate", a few blocks from Piemonte Casa, or at "Entre Nubes", 4 km from the town on the CA-8 highway. Both places offer excellent tours on the complete process of coffee production, from the farm to the cup tasting, giving the opportunity to learn more about the coffee culture that distinguishes this region of western El Salvador. If time permits and you want to travel to other points of interest, you can visit the city of Ahuachapán, 12 km from Ataco and, on that route, the tourist complexes of thermal pools, such as the "Termales de Santa Teresa" and "Termales la Montaña". Apart from being places of exuberant natural beauty, both offer therapeutic services through the use of mineral water pools, saunas, massages, hiking and other activities. They also have restaurants, bars, and lodging.
