The property sits snugly between the great PACIFIC OCEAN and vast stretches of RICE FIELDS, with a view of the awe-inspiring BULUSAN VOLCANO in the horizon. Our MAIN VILLA is newly renovated. Located on a 2000 sqm fenced property, this is the first finished guest structure, with the swimming pool and music studio coming soon. Entering the gate, you'll see the Main House ahead. The NATURAL DIPPING POOL at the bottom of the staircase is shared by all guests. The fully air-conditioned Lamadang suite has a super comfy KING-SIZED BED, an attached STUDY, and an EN SUITE BATHROOM with a BATHTUB and a shower extension outdoors for adventurous guests. THE LANAI The ground floor Lanai is a large open space with a view of the rice fields and the sunset. Two hammocks hang along the West side, and chairs and tables are scattered around the space. The KING SIZED BEDS with QUEEN TRUNDLES are on the South side of the open space, facing the middle of the property where our pool will be constructed. There are curtains to cover the beds, and shutters on both sides for more wind protection and privacy. The KITCHEN is on the North side of the ground floor. It's a galley kitchen with a bar, and equipped with most kitchen appliances except for a microwave oven. The spacious BATHROOM is next to the kitchen, and features a bathtub with a view of a side garden. THE 2ND FLOOR AND LOFT Upstairs, the second floor LIVING, DINING, AND KITCHEN AREA is a large central area with a high ceiling shared by guests on the second level. The loft rooms overlook this room, and the Lamadang Suite and Malasugi Room can be found on either side of the central room. The LAMADANG Suite with KING SIZED BED has an attached Study and EN SUITE BATHROOM with bathtub and indoor/outdoor shower. Two single beds can be made up in this room for extra guests. There is a TV in the study, and a view of BULUSAN VOLCANO from the double desk. The East balcony has a partial view of the road and the sea, so you can check the waves before heading out to the beach. The MALASUGI Room contains a QUEEN SIZED BED, and has the BEST VIEW in the house, looking out to the rice fields and the sunset. Past the staircase leading to the third floor, the SHELL BATHROOM is a spacious bathroom with road and rice field views. Turingan Loft features 3 QUEEN SIZED beds placed on the floor, and comfortably sleeps 6 guests. It also has a work space for two. Past the staircase leading to the third floor, the SHELL BATHROOM is a spacious bathroom with road and rice field views. This bathroom is shared by the Malasugi Room and Turingan Loft guests. The third floor lofts are open to the downstairs, and as such, any noise in the kitchen or living room can be heard in the lofts. The BATALAY loft features wide sofas for lounging, a large LED TV for binge watching on Netflix, and a study desk if you're feeling productive, the perfect balance of work and relaxation. Guest access STAY PERKS: Guests have the entire MAIN VILLA for the duration of their stay. The DIPPING POOL at the bottom of the stairs is shared with all Baia Nest guests. The property is fenced in, and guests and animals are free to roam. The SUGBAHAN is available for grilling outdoors. The LANAI KITCHEN is shared with the BAIA NEST STAFF, as we bake our bread here in the mornings, and we also have our stock in one of the refrigerators. We'll try to stay away from here as much as possible when there are guests. MORNING DELIGHTS: Start your day with homemade peanut butter, sourdough bread, champorado, local premium coffee, and refreshing calamansi juice. For a taste of local cuisine, request special Bicolano meals prepared by our staff for an additional fee. Books, games, and Netflix are available for your enjoyment. CONNECTIVITY: Baia Nest is equipped with Converge and also has Starlink as a backup. Beach Access: The beach is just a 2-minute walk from our house, through a small seaside village. An outdoor shower by the gate allows guests to rinse off before getting into the dipping pool or upon arrival from the beach. RESIDENT PETS: Guests will be delighted to meet our adorable furry friends: two lovely poodles, a playful labradoodle, and five quirky cats. Please take care not to let them run into the street when entering or exiting our front gates. SECURITY: Every night, our security guard takes his post to make sure every guest sleeps safe and sound. Feel free to approach him for any assistance. Other things to note THINGS TO CONSIDER: >You may encounter farm wildlife such as field mice, insects, and reptiles. >Occasional power outages within the province can occur. >SOME LEAKS may happen from the native roof after heavy rain. >The cottage uses only ELECTRIC FANS for additional cooling and no AC. >PARKING is available streetside outside the property. >Some areas may be under CONSTRUCTION during the day. >PETS allowed after an approval process, with a P500 pet fee. >Extra charges may be applied for special requests such as early check in or late check out. >A MOTORBIKE and MINIVAN are available for rent. ACTIVITIES Sorsogon has great activities for all types of groups and individuals. Booked guests have access to our guide book for things to see and do around town! We are currently building our pool. When you look down from the Lamadang bathroom, you will see the construction. We will do our best to keep the noise to a minimum when there are guests around. BROWNOUTS We sometimes have whole day brownouts (6am-6pm), but we have a small generator that can power the refrigerator and wifi. The generator is not strong enough to power the water pump at the same time, so we have to choose if you want water or internet! There is water in the ground floor areas, though the pressure is a little weak. We'll be sure to coordinate when this happens! DOORS AND WINDOWS While the Lamadang Suite and Malasugi Room have lockable doors and windows, and the bathrooms have lockable doors, the central room and loft doors and windows are still being crafted by our carpenter. These will be installed little by little, so expect that there may be some missing doors and windows during your stay. NO WALLS The entire ground floor Lanai has no walls. Only the beds have curtains, and there are shutters on one side for privacy. BEDS The beds are on the floor. We are working towards having bed frames, but the doors and windows come first! ANIMALS AND PETS: Guests with pets should coordinate with us before arrival. Pets are allowed after a short approval process along with a pet fee. Pets need proper introduction to our Baia Nest animals. Our dogs are not usually friendly to strange cats. Being next to the rice fields, you may encounter farm wildlife such as field rats, insects, and reptiles. MEALS Though all our Nests are self-service, since Gubat doesn't have such a large selection of restaurants, you have the option of hiring a local cook to prepare meals for you, or a kitchen assistant, if you prefer to cook yourself. Ate Nicel cooks delicious local dishes. Ask us for the menu, and we can send it over. Cost depends on the group size and the number of meals you want prepared per day. SWIMMING We do not have lifeguards in our house or on the beach, so swim at your own risk! Always be aware of the currents and wave conditions before entering the water. DISCOUNTS Our guests often regret not booking longer, so we've added in discounts for stays of 2 nights or more. The longer you stay, the bigger the discount. Treat yourself to that extra day! DAYTIME GUESTS We charge a daytime guest fee of P500 per guest. Please let us know if you will be entertaining daytime guests in our Nest. Maximum of 10 daytime guests are allowed over the 20 booked guests. If you plan to use our house for celebrations or gatherings, please let us know beforehand. NOISE Our house is located beside the road. Expect street sounds, and the sound of fish vendors at 6 in the morning. When there is a fiesta anywhere in the vicinity, the sound travels across the rice fields to our house. This happens only a few days in a year. REBOOKING In line with our firm cancellation policy, we do not allow rebooking less than 2 weeks before your stay. CLEANING AND SHEET CHANGES In our effort to reduce unnecessary use resources, cleaning and sheet changes are conducted every 3 days for longer stays. Should you want your sheets to be changed daily, this can be arranged for an extra cleaning fee.
