I offer a lovely traditional, simple comfortable large room with a double bed in our non-smoking double fronted Victorian family house with a sunny aspect. My house is located in a residential area of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, called Plumstead which is a culturally diverse and rapidly changing area of London. All within a 1 to 5 minute minute walk of our home you will find lovely parks with outdoor exercise equipment and green walks, grocery stores, pharmacies, doctor & dentist offices, post office, bus stops, gym, library, restaurants, cafes, pubs and take aways. Plumstead Train Station is an 8 minute walk. Thames Clipper River Ferry Service is a 15 minute walk. The bedroom has a lockable door in a safe family home and we respect your privacy. This is a shared house and I live here with my husband and two teenaged children. This room is on the ground floor with one other bedroom. Shared toilet is one floor above and the shared bathroom is on the lower floor. You can use the combination washer dryer machine for an extra charge of £5 per load including laundry soap & conditioner. The washing capacity is for 8kgs and the drying capacity is for 4kgs. Payment per load of washing must be made in advance. Please note you will need to ask before using the machine as the price is based on using a specific washing and drying programme for cotton wash - 1 hour & 26 minutes wash at 40 degrees water temperature and drying for 1 hour and 50 minutes. If you wish to wash your clothes at a laundry mat there is one located on the high street a 5 minute walk away from the house. It’s easy to get to my house from the airports very close to London City Airport. Guests have access to their bedroom and shared toilet, bathroom and Kitchen diner area. There are many places to eat in the area; including many small cafes and takeaways within a few minutes walk. If you need something I will be more than happy to help you as best I can, if you wish I can arrange transport with a taxi to or from the airport starting from £65 depending on location and amount of luggage. Interaction with Guests; We welcome you to London and our non-smoking home located in zone 4. If you are a visitor to the city we can provide directions and recommendations on places to go. On the weekend we would be delighted to share a chat and a drink if you are in the mood for company. We are a laid back family and are happy to chat or give you privacy as you wish. We often have friends and family come to stay so you need to be comfortable with that. The Neighbourhood: Ideal for someone on a budget there are easy transport links into central London and with the new Elizabeth Line you can arrive at Oxford Circus in 20 minutes! Greenwich has excellent transportation links with access to some of the most vibrant parts of East and North London including: CAMDEN TOWN STRATFORD HACKNEY SHOREDITCH TOWER OF LONDON Getting around Let me know if you need help finding the best way around. Top travel tip 1: Get a London Oyster card. Top it up with £16. This will get you to the house via London train, tube or bus. Top travel tip 2: Get the 'Citymapper' app. Excellent app showing all bus, tube, overground and walking directions between points - plus all costs and timings. Highly recommended. The house is conveniently located in ZONE 4, only 20 to 40 minutes from most London attractions by train, bus or tube. Fastest way to get to Central London is on the new Elizabeth Line located at Woolwich a 10 minute bus ride away. Other Things to Note *I supply clean towels and bed linens. *I supply a hair dryer if you need one. *Breakfast is not included. There are many local cafes within a few minutes walk. Check in is from 3pm and check out is by 11am but we can be flexible depending on your timing. Let us know if you have a late flight and want to leave your bags with us as this may be possible (it may not depending on how we are placed for that day but we will do our best). This is our family home so for all of our protection we do not permit Airbnb guests to bring anyone else into the house. If you must have a visitor please ask us in advance.
