Description
Veslekoia is a small cabin with nostalgic interior and charm. It is only 39 square meters in size and was built in 1963. There is no running water or electricity, but there is solar power that generally provides enough energy to charge phones. There is an outbuilding with firewood and an outdoor toilet. The cabin is located in a quiet and older cabin area. Skiing paradise and hiking opportunities can be found right outside the door. The space The Cabin The cabin is located at 565 meters above sea level in an older, scattered, and secluded cabin area just north of Budor. Along the road flows a large stream, and the area is characterized by open pine forests with ample light. Here, you have a view of the surrounding forest, a lively bird feeder, and berry patches. Beds Veslekoia has two beds and sleeping space for three to four people. One bed, which is 120 centimeters wide, is located inside the entrance hall. The other bed is situated in the kitchen and is 140 centimeters wide. Standard sizes for duvets and pillows are provided, and there are mattress toppers on the beds. Bathroom There is no bathroom in the cabin, but there is a wash basin, soap, and cloths in a corner of the kitchen. The outdoor toilet can be found in the shed, as there is no toilet inside the cabin. Solar Power There is mainly solar power available in the cabin. The power box is mounted to the left of the front door above the shoe rack. Turn the power on/off by pressing the button on the left side of the box. Parking There is parking space for two to three cars, and the road leads directly to the cabin. In winter, the parking area is plowed by a snowplow by arrangement (December—April). Ski Trails/Ski Slopes The nearest prepared ski trails are about two kilometers from Veslekoia, while the Budor ski and sledding slope is three kilometers away. Here, you will also find the ski pub and Budor Guesthouse, where you can buy dinner after a day of skiing. It is possible to rent skis, sleds, and ski equipment at Budor Ski Facility. Guest access Entire cabin, as well as outbuilding. Other things to note 🔎 The cottage does not have a cleaning fee. The main rule is therefore that you should leave the cabin in the condition you want to find it yourself, and preferably a little better than when you arrived. Payment via Airbnb. 🔎 Let the host know if it is desirable to rent linens. It costs 100 NOK per person. Please advise no later than one day before arrival. Towels and cloths can be borrowed at no extra charge. 🔎 There are water jugs in the cabin/outhouse that can be used to get water. The water post/well is located along Budorvegen, about 2 kilometers from the cottage - direction Budor Gjestegård. 🔎 There is a toll booth 18 kilometers before you arrive in Veslekoia. Price as of August 2025: NOK 85. The nearest store is open on Sundays and is located at Brenneriroa. It's a good idea to shop for everything you need for the weekend at this store, so you avoid having to pass the barrier to make extra purchases. From the road barrier to the cabin it is 9 kilometers. 🔎 Guests must be able to control the use of the gas stove and gas fridge if it is to be used during their stay. Instructions are located at the cabin. 🔎 There are dish towels, cloths, soap, toilet paper, games, spices, filter coffee/beans, etc. available. 🔎 It's a good idea to bring a battery bank and headlamp. 🕯️ In 🔎 winter/dark, there is a possibility that the cabin runs out of solar power due to low sunrise. 🔎 If there are freezing temperatures in the cabin, the vacuum cleaner may not be charging/working properly. Please use broom board and mop.
