The space This one bedroom apartment with private interior patio and three terraces, is located in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Alicante, El Barrio San Roque, offers lots of charm and history. The apartment has a private entrance from the main street and ground floor. Immediately after entering, the steps will lead you up to a spacious open living and dinning room with 3 balconies. With traditional exposed wood beams on the ceiling and balconies overlooking the historic streets below, this apartment offers lots of character. Split-system air conditioning in both the bedroom and living area. From the living space, you will find the fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary essentials and continue through to the rest of the home. Following the kitchen you will find access to the bedroom, bathroom, and interior private patio. From the bedroom you will find the double glass doors which lead out to the three private terraces. Near to the the apartment there is a large selection of cafes, restaurants, pubs providing a broad range of Spanish and International cuisine. The large covered Mercado Central offers an unrivaled range of fresh fruit, vegetables, meats and fish. Getting around the city is easy either by foot or by public transports and access to other parts of the Costa Blanca is straightforward using cheap and regular local buses, trains and trams. Access to and from the airport is easy using the regular buses which stop close to the apartment. Guest access Guests will have private access to the entire apartment, interior patio, and three terraces. Other things to note Celebrations, Festivals, and Holidays Carnaval (Carnival) When: February (week before Lent) What: Parades, costumes, live music, and street parties Warning: Loud music well into the early hours of the morning (4am). Semana Santa (Holy Week) When: March or April (dates vary yearly) What: Religious processions throughout the city with traditional floats (pasos) and music. Hogueras de San Juan (Bonfires of Saint John) When: June 20–24 What: Alicante’s biggest festival. Huge paper monuments are built and burned in celebration of the summer solstice. Warning: Loud music well into the early hours of the morning (4am). Nochebuena & Navidad (Christmas Eve & Christmas Day) When: December 24–25 What: Family meals and midnight Mass. Nochevieja en Alicante (New Year's Eve) is a joyful, lively celebration full of parties, music, and traditions—both local and Spanish-wide. While it’s not as massive as Hogueras, Alicante still offers a festive and unforgettable way to ring in the New Year. Warning: Loud music well into the early hours of the morning (4am).
