Rainier National Park, the cabin is situated in the recreational community of Bavarian Retreat. Across the street is a pond in the Paradise Estates Community that you may visit that we are members of. It is a nice place to stroll and see birds, roaming deer and otters occasionally fishing. Hiking is a short distance away in the Park or Federal/State Forests. You can grab a burger and blackberry pie at one of the local restaurants about 5 miles away. And remember to bring your favorite foods for grilling, but get your groceries before you are in Ashford. We don't have a regular grocery store! Roads are paved. Last stop for fuel is in Ashford. Winters are mild, but we can occasionally have a few feet of snow. In this case, we strongly recommend a 4x4 vehicle, and if not, tire chains and skill to properly use them.
