The town center hosts several shops (bakery, grocery store, butcher shop, art galleries and decoration...) and restaurants. You can stroll along the path along the mills, cottages and watercress beds. The market in Veules is on Wednesday mornings. Saint-Valéry-en-Caux: 5 minutes by car from our rental. Discover the modern city center, with its shops, Stroll along the quays, perhaps you will buy fish from the fishermen on their return from fishing, Cross the channel, you will see the Henri IV house with its half-timbering. Enter the small streets of the St Léger district, its fishermen's houses, to the Cloître des Pénitents. You are in the old St Valéry. The Alabaster Coast: whether you go to Fécamp/ Etretat (55 min drive) or Dieppe, Varengeville, Pourville (20 to 30 min), you will always see at some point these large white chalk walls that are the cliffs. The GR21 runs along the coast, you can do many hikes from our accommodation. Rouen: the Dame de la Côte is 1 hour from Rouen, capital of Normandy, nicknamed the "city of a hundred steeples". First, start by looking at the facade of Notre-Dame Cathedral (12th-16th centuries) painted by Claude Monet. Enter and discover the superb stained glass windows of the Middle Ages, the tombs of the Dukes of Normandy Rollon and Richard the Lionheart. The cathedral is topped by the highest spire in France (151 m). Right next to the Cathedral, in the archbishopric on Rue St Romain is the Joan of Arc Memorial where you will discover her life through 3D films. Stop at Dame Cakes, an unusual place to eat a piece of cake and drink excellent tea. Stroll along the narrow streets, lined with timber-framed houses with colorful facades (more than 2000), the church of St Maclou... If you like unusual places, go to the St Maclou churchyard, a former cemetery and ossuary of plague victims. Continue along Rue Damiette and its antique shops to reach the superb St Ouen Abbey and its superb stained glass windows. Then return to the cathedral square and continue along Rue du Gros Horloge. This clock dates from the 16th century and has only one hand. In addition, it is also a very commercial street. Then you will arrive at the Old Market Square, where Joan of Arc was burned alive in 1431. Close to the pyre, stands the 1979 Sainte Jeanne d'Arc church with modern architecture but 16th century stained glass windows from the Saint Vincent church destroyed during the war.
