Victorian Charm Near Downtown & Rideau Canal

Step into the charm of a Victorian-style retreat that feels like a true home away from home. Impeccably clean and carefully designed for a peaceful, comfortable getaway. Nestled in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, this inviting space offers the perfect blend of serenity and convenience. Located one block from downtown, where you’ll find many shops & restaurants and just a few blocks from Rideau Canal featuring a public beach, walking path and Le Boat. The space This is my personal residence and only available on Airbnb while I’m away. Personally, I prefer Airbnb over hotel rooms for a more spacious & homey feel and access to amenities, especially the kitchen! Feel free to use ingredients for cooking. Breakfast is included (eggs, bread, butter, peanut butter, jam, cereals, milk, protein powder, frozen fruits). This 1880s home, built on the stable bedrock of the Canadian Shield, features high ceilings, tall windows, hardwood floors, and thick walls, giving it character. While it retains its historic charm, all plumbing and electrical systems have been fully updated to modern standards. At the back of the house, you’ll notice a small exterior door leading directly to the basement, where coal was once delivered to heat the home. And then there’s the backyard maple tree - my favourite. Imagine the stories it has witnessed over the years! Guest access You will have access to the whole house including 1st and 2nd floor, backyard, front and back decks and driveway (space for 3 vehicles). Other things to note If you need to dispose of garbage during your stay, there is a black garbage bin with a lid outside (beside the back deck). Recycling: Cans and plastic go in the black bin outside. Paper and cardboard can be placed in the blue bin behind the white curtain near the kitchen or under the sink.
