Cosy cottage in Middleham, Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales. 1 mile from the entrance to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The space Traditional stone built cute cosy cottage (322 sq feet) in Middleham. Ideal romantic getaway for two. One bedroom with a king size bed and goose down duvet. Modern upstairs shower room with thick fluffy towels and soap products included. Downstairs there is well equipped kitchen and cosy lounge with electric fire and WiFi. Situated 1 minutes walk from the market square with pubs ,restaurants and shops. Watch the racing horses head out on their gallops from the table a chairs to the front of the cottage. Free on street parking is available opposite on the cobbles or in the market square. The front courtyard is secure for your dog. Middleham is a centre of horse racing and home to Middleham Trainers' Association. The first racehorse trainer at Middleham was Isaac Cape in 1765. Today there are several, including Mark Johnston, Jedd O'Keefe, James Bethell, and Ben Haslam. Racing is the foremost employer in the town and tourism the second. The castle is a ruin, having been dismantled in 1646, but the keep, built by Robert Fitz Ralph in the 1170s, survives, as do the 13th-century chapel and 14th-century gatehouse. Middleham has four pubs, a village shop, a fish and chip shop and a tea room. Guest access You will have sole and private access to the whole cottage. Other things to note Please be aware parking is on street but plentiful. Opposite the cottage is room for a few cars on the cobbles on a first come first served basis or there are loads of spaces on and around the square one minutes walk away. Old Cartmel cottage is a traditional cottage and has fairly steep winding stairs to the first floor so is not suitable if you have mobility needs. You are welcome to bring your pooch and take full advantage of the walks and scenery of the Yorkshire Dales.
