Locals take their dogs here too. We are in the heart of the subtropical Northern Rivers, where the weather can be wet but the rainforest is lush and the wildlife abundant. Our 10 acres is our forever home and we care for the land. The gardens are beautiful and bloom at different times of year. The cute eco cottage has just had its interior renovated and is nestled behind a private garden and a stones throw from our free range chooks who may come and visit you. Fresh eggs each morning for brekkie. Walk 1 minute up the drive and take in the views of nightcap range. The main space is cosy, open plan and simple, with a gas oven, fridge freezer and large wood fired stove. Behind the kitchen is your queen bed. Adjacent is the sofabed which sleeps 2. There is a TV with netflix now so waterfall cottage has finally arrived in the 21st century! The dining area is outdoors on the covered porch and seats 4 but there is a folding table and 2 folding chairs for eating indoors when it’s cold or raining. Ceiling fans throughout and built in wardrobe. New indoor/outdoor bath is at the centre of the cottage and a seperate powerful shower. The brand new bathroom has a vanity, two clean and well maintained composting toilets. Please use a little sawdust and provided eco spray for poos and toilet paper only. The undercover carport is attached and the sensor light will go on as you drive into it. It can be very dark on the property so please contact us if arriving at night for specifics. There is a back door with steps. The front door is accessed from the garden and has a ramp. Out back is a simple fire pit for roasting marshmallows. You are welcome to wander through the 10 acres of gardens and take in the views of the mountain ranges or take a stroll up to the adjoining aboriginal grasslands at sunset where you get a spectacular 360 degree view. This is the last of the big scrub and is protected. We are currently building a yoga temple, aerial rig and healing treatment room on the land. These are all in process of being built (by us, it’s quite the project!) and could possibly be up and running by the time you visit so please ask in advance if you would like a yoga class, aerial class or a healing. Dogs are welcome as long as they don’t sleep on guest beds or the sofa and they are chook friendly. We have a dog, a schnauser named Pip. He’s friendly but will inevitably bark when you arrive/ I can alsways keep the chooks inisde the pen if you are nervous about your dog being around them. Please note the cottage and property are NOT dog-fenced. We live in an off grid treehouse at the western edge of the property. You are welcome to visit if you are interested. If you need to do laundry let us know - there is no laundry inside the cottage but a short walk to the farmhouse through the gardens. The laundry is seperate to the main house so is accessible. Just ask. Guest access Please turn left after the pelican with the red arrow. The pelican flies overhead so look up :) The cottage will be immediately on your left as you turn up the drive. You are welcome to stroll around the property. just a short stroll up the internal road there are lovely views of the ranges all the way to nimbin, Wollumbin and beyond. Maeve Gardens is a magical spot with many mature fruit trees, native regenerated plants and grasses. Talk to the trees and the flowers and the earth spirits here - they have stories to tell and healing to give. Other things to note Eco means: well maintained composting toilets, rain water, solar power ☀️ 💚 This is an eco retreat not a 5 star resort so please be prepared for a ‘slow’ stay. We have telstra and internet but the internet can be slow at times and occasionally cuts out if there is heavy rain. Be aware these country roads open up to potholes. Lismore council fix these of course but it is an ongoing battle. You do not need a 4 wheel drive, however, be aware. Dog owners please note the garden and entrance are not fenced. We are an eco farm and immersed in nature. Sometimes it can be muddy. Bring good shoes/boots. Snakes - yes, we have them, as do all properties in the northern rivers and beyond. Mostly harmless carpet pythons. To avoid any visitors, keep doors and windows shut whilst out. We also have wallabies and echidnas and so many pretty birds and fruit trees. If you have little ones and you want to visit the ‘faery garden’ i’d be happy to show you. We are a friendly, down to earth family and welcome you as part of our family. 😊 Dogs are welcome but please let us know if they are not used to chickens as they free range from around 11am. We have a schnauzer called PiP who will want to play. He can bark when you first arrive. He is a total sook but does demand pats. We are naturally closer to the elements and the weather. Please bring appropriate clothes, hats and footwear. Although provided, we would kindly ask you to bring earth friendly hair products, if you want to use your own. Lots of beautiful hikes and waterfalls and picnic spots nearby - just ask us we are more than happy to show you Also there are detailed recommendations in the black welcome folder - pubs, doctors, markets etc… Registration Details PID-STRA-64343
