Experience the magic of Freedom Glen Cottage. Our 12 acres farm is a working property situated 18 kilometres from the lovely town of Tumbarumba. Our location is ideal for adventurers wishing to explore the beautiful western side of the NSW Snowy Mountains and beyond with hiking, biking, fishing and snow opportunities available as easy day trips . Our modern cottage is equipped with everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Sleeps 4, AC with Wi-Fi. Enjoy your stay! The space It is the perfect place to stop overnight between Sydney and Melbourne or stay a little longer and enjoy some rest and relaxation. We are EV friendly with a dedicated 15amp outdoor power point for hassle free charging. Ideal location for those wanting to enjoy the high country alpine area. Freedom Glen Cottage is the perfect base from which to explore the area and pursue all the activities it offers locally. Whether skiing in winter, fishing, cycling, hiking, or swimming in the warmer months. The local area offers restaurants and pubs, cold climate wine region and products, cafes and farm door outlets. After the days activities retreat home for drinks on the patio or a lovely dinner. The kitchen incudes most everything you could need to cook up a storm if desired. It has a fridge with separate freezer, electric cooktop/oven all the pots pans, plates, glasses and utensils you may need during your stay. At the back of the cottage we provide a private seating area with grill and hotplate BBQ for you to enjoy alfresco dinning or breakfast whilst taking in the sounds of nature. The Cottage offers a very comfortable sleeping arrangement with a Queen bed in the main bedroom and two king singles in second bedroom. There is also a separate laundry with washing machine with clothes line out the back. Our small farm is built on the principles of regenerative agriculture, self-sufficiency and sustainable living. The farm features a small orchard, berry growing area, vegetable garden and native foods. We also breed and sell Dorper sheep at certain times of the year. Our main crop is growing Chemical free Italian purple garlic. It is planted in April grown through the chill winter, sometimes under snow! Harvest is in December, we then process most of our garlic into Black Garlic that is sold locally. Please enjoy our farm, you can hang out with friends or have a romantic retreat. Its a chance to indulge some solitude reading or write a great book. Its a place of dreams, well we think so! Guest access Its only a short walk (we recommend good enclosed foot wear!) to our paddocks, orchard then on down to our private stretch of Paddys River. When exploring the orchard and river area ground can be mildly uneven and undulating care is to be taken. Children are required to be supervised at all times! due to the risk of River, Dams and animals. Farm Gates are to be left as you find them (if you open one! close it behind you) thanks. Its only a small stream but offers the keen angler small Rainbow and Brown trout on Fly fishing gear or spin gear in season (Oct long weekend to June long weekend) Thigh Waders recommended. Take a pleasant walk along the river and you may be lucky to spot one of our resident platypus. You are welcome to wonder around the farm orchard and river area but please be aware this is a native bushland area both flora and fauna should be respected. As Freedom Glen is a working farm stay away from any machinery and equipment or works in progress. Important note: Our farm is located in native bushland, due to the nature of the area abundant wildlife may be present. Other things to note Should you like to venture out and explore the area during your stay. Please pack warm clothes for the cooler months as it gets chilly up here. Also pack appropriate footwear for walks. Its only 15 min drive to Tumbarumba, there is a pub, restaurants, cafes, gift shops, pharmacy, butcher, bakery and a IGA supermarket for your convenience or to pick up supplies. The Beautiful Braymont Gardens and Obsession Wines cellar door is only 2km from cottage. For those looking for a bit more adventure, bring the boat and access the Tumut River via O'Hares (Sue City) campground in the Kosciuszko National Park, located 19km from the cottage. It provides convenient access to the southern end of Talbingo Reserve and some great fishing or swimming. Hire a bicycle in Town or bring your own and ride the scenic Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail. Come try out Mt Tumbarumba Mountain Bike Park. Experience the granite slabs and trails winding down through open forest with stunning views across our alpine region. 17 mins Explore the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail. See and swim at Paddys River Falls. Explore the Yarrangobilly Caves and swim the geo-thermal pool. Easy drive up to toboggan, Ski or hike at Mt Selwyn Ski resort. Tumbarumba's own craft gin distillers-Ladbroken Distilling Co and all the wonderful local wineries and cellar doors. Photographers dream! with plenty of wildlife in the area. Beautiful birds everywhere or photograph the wild Brumbies up the road. A scenic drive to charming towns and areas like Cabramurra 51mins , Tooma 13 mins, Khancoban 42 mins, Corryong (VIC) 40mins, Jingellic 45mins, Tumbarumba 15mins and Batlow 40mins.
