Off the grid container home

Get a good rest, relax and boost your health in a natural, quiet, off-grid solar powered environment. Surrounded by nature you will enjoy the stillness and tranquil days and nights of the Uruguayan countryside. Days can be spent relaxing in the hammock, walking in the native forest, picking veg for dinner, taking a dip in our natural swimming pond style pool or a fresh shower outside. We can also give you tips on other things to do or organize biking and or kayaking trips in the area. The space The house is in the middle of a rural area, close to Carmelo town. It is solar powered but has all the comfort of a modern house inside a shipping container. Full bathroom with hot water, full kitchen equipped with most basics so you can prep your own food if you like, a bar to hang out by the kitchen and a tiny sofa in the living area. Ample outside space with sitting area, hammocks and lots of open space to hang out under the sun. We have a sauna that we can warm up upon request (extra fee). The sauna has an outside shower and is a great treat! Other things to note We, the owners, live in a separate house, made of straw bales, which is not visible from the container and we will let you enjoy your stay in peace. But we are usually working around the area, either in the farm behind the house or with different projects and therefore need to circulate a bit around. We also have chickens next to the accommodation which we tend to daily so you will most likely run into us at some point of your stay. We will gladly tell you everything you might want to know about our off-grid living experience here if you are curious, but will otherwise let you be and breathe it all in.
