5 minutes from downtown and UNL. You get the whole 2nd floor apartment plus the big attic loft, two full bedrooms, a living room with a futon couch, a small, super-cute full kitchen (newly redone), plus the newly recarpeted loft with its own temp control heat pump, excellent as a dedicated workspace or a comfy TV room. 3 to five people should be very comfortable spread out in this large space. Open-ended rentals available. New flooring, new carpet, new heat pump, new windows, 3 TVs, +++ The space It's a quiet, safe neighborhood, and you have the whole place to yourselves. You have a separate entrance to the second-floor apartment, with a keycode lock, so you can come and go as you please. There are two locked doors to the apartment: the main front door to the house, and then your stout, solid wood apartment door. From there, you come up the stairs to the hallway. There, you can go upstairs to the attic loft, or to one of the bedrooms, or the living/dining room, or the bathroom. The kitchen is a charming, very cute space tucked behind the large, usable living room/dining room/extra sleeping room. The cute kitchen is also a full kitchen, and has all the cookware, utensils, and equipment you need to make large meals. The dining room table seats 6 comfortably, and you could even seat a few extra people on the couch. The bedrooms are private and cozy, with a secure feel. Each one has a queen bed with space on either side. Also, each one has its own new 32" TV and remote, as well as a closet and a dresser, with bright windows to let in morning light or look out on the trees. The loft has fresh carpet and a nice clean feel. There are three comfy chairs up there and a big new 42" TV. There is also a little desk up there in the dormer alcove, with a nice view. The desk area has two separate lights to use for work or study. It's a good fast Wi-Fi that reaches the whole apartment, and all the TVs stream various services, including Netflix, Prime, and more. The temperature up in the loft is as you like it, with its own, brand-new heat pump to heat or cool. We've talked to former residents of the house who used that loft as a bedroom, but there is no second egress out, except out the dormer window then off the front porch roof, which you'd have to be slightly athletic and somewhat clear-headed to pull off easily, so we have not put a couch or a bed up there, and do not recommend you use as a sleeping area for that reason. Still, makes a super great place to study, work, or to hang out and watch TV. This unit was made into an apartment in 1941, and we have just finished making a ton of improvements and renovations, including plumbing and electrical, to make it a clean, comfortable, convenient, and secure place for long-term stays. We are usually downstairs or close at hand if you need anything. About 1150 square feet of room up there total. We are experienced hosts.
