This English basement with two private entrances is part of completely renovated row house in the Petworth neighborhood. Just an short walk to the metro subway station, guests can easily access all Washington, D.C. has to offer. If you drive, you can park your vehicle for free in the off-street parking spot. In the Petworth neighborhood, there are many restaurants, cafés, bars, and boutique shops within a few blocks. The Guest Suite includes access to the entire English basement, which consists of a bedroom, living room, and full bathroom. In the living room, there is mini-fridge and microwave. There is not a full kitchen. The Guest Suite sleeps up to four people. In the bedroom is a double bed, and in the living room is a futon that unfolds into a double bed. This city-living space is in a residential neighborhood in the heart of DC. Due to the location and nature of space, you may hear various noises including the DC Metro (subway), road noise, HVAC, and the upstairs residents (which is the host's family including two young children). We keep quiet hours upstairs between 10pm to 7:30am. Outside of those hours, you may hear footsteps, children, and kitchen noises coming from the house upstairs. The Guest Suite includes access to the entire English basement, which has two of its own separate entrances -- one in the front of the house and one in the rear. The Guest Suite is sealed off from the rest of the house with a door that remains locked during your stay. Guests are welcome to park their vehicle in the off-street parking spot behind the house. We (the hosts) live in the house upstairs. Usually one of us isn't too far from home (and we sometimes work from home), so we can be reached promptly any time of day in case you have any questions or concerns. The Guest Suite is in the lively Petworth neighborhood, which contains restaurants, bars, cafes, groceries, etc. With a short drive or metro ride, you can be downtown to see the monuments, National Mall, and all the DC attractions in less than 25 minutes. The Georgia Ave-Petworth metro station is just an 8 minute walk away. The Guest Suite is only 1 mile (20 minute walk) from Children's National Medical Center, which makes it a great location for people visiting or working at the hospital. The Guest Suite is an 8 minute walk to the Georgia Ave-Petworth metro (subway) station (green/yellow line), which provides access to almost anywhere in DC. If you arriving by vehicle, guests can use the off-street parking spot behind the house during their stay. The majority of the space has 7 ft high ceilings. However, the ceiling is lower (6 ft) in a few areas. Taller guests should use caution and watch their head when in these areas. The lower clearance areas are labeled and padded for your safety.
