Ontario Vista Countryside Home

Welcome to the Ontario Vista - a countryside home located in Kendall, NY! This 1878 farm house is a side-by-side duplex, with the host family living on one side. You will have full access to the other side, with a private parking area and entry door. From the upper story, you can see Lake Ontario, which is only a mile north of the home. The space You will have complete and private use of 1500sqft of living space, spread across two floors. There are two doors that are connected to the side of the home we currently live in - of course these remain locked for the duration of each guests stay. The lower floor features the entryway, living room, and kitchen. The upper floor features a reading nook, two bedrooms (one queen; two twins), and a full bathroom. A single person cot is also folded up in the queen bedroom closet, should you need it. Please note, our home is 150 years old. The stairs have a steep pitch, common for the time period. Many interior components of the home are original. We take pride in our home and are constantly renovating, but please keep it's age and architectural style in mind while booking. While staying with us, you are welcome to explore the property, which is surrounded by open farm fields. A fire pit and small pond are situated behind the home. We also have five resident pigs, Cheerios, Cinnamon, Apple, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate. You are welcome to visit with them, they are social and friendly, just watch your fingers. Wifi is available at the home. Two televisions are also present and have Amazon Firesticks, giving you access to hundreds of shows/movies. The kitchen is fully outfitted with typical necessities (plates, bowls, cups, mugs, silverware, cookware, utensils, etc), and a full size refrigerator, electric stove/oven, microwave, and coffee maker. We drink bottled water and want to point out that the refrigerator does not dispense water or ice. Other things to note Well behaved, house trained dogs are allowed (pet fee applies). No cats allowed. Maximum two pets per stay, please contact us first if you have additional animal companions. As previously mentioned, our family lives on the opposite side of the home. Be aware that you will definitely hear our children and dogs during your stay, although we always try our best to be courteous. No smoking inside the home. If you must smoke, please do it outside and away from the home. Dispose of butts appropriately. The nearest gas station is Crosby’s, located at 16825 Roosevelt Highway, Kendall, NY 14476. They have graded fuel, ethanol-free, and diesel. (5-minute drive) The nearest general store is Dollar General, located at 16669 Roosevelt Highway, Kendall, NY 14476. They have most of your essential needs, including food and drink items, hygiene items, clothing, supplies, etc. (5-minute drive) The nearest resturant is The Grove 1848, located at 1848 Kendall Road, Kendall, NY 14476. They are recently renovated and have a great menu with daily/weekly specials. They also have a bar and online ordering/pick up available. (5-minute drive) There are not many restaurants that provide delivery to us, however, one that does is Cusimanos Pizzeria (3670 Lake Rd N, Brockport, NY 14420). As a heads up, they have a minimum order of $40. The preferred go-to area for shopping is Brockport, where there is a Wegmans, Walmart, TJ Max, Runnings, Tractor Supply, Aldi, and numerous eateries (Frankie Fresh, Grinds, Bill Gray's, Abbot's, Custom House, Brockport Diner, Ho Ho Grand Buffet, 58 Main, McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, and more).
