This is a great spot for little ones to play and swim, without worrying about large waves. Dogs are not allowed on the main sound side beach area, but there is a smaller park that is dog-friendly. Guest access This is a private home and guests have access to the whole house except the owner's closet in the den/office and the storage area under the house. One neighbor has a fence and the other doesn't. There is no fence around our yard, so please keep an eye on your children and a leash on your dog(s). The hot tub is relatively private, under the house and has shades around the area. Please note: This is a beach box house and the living level is on the second floor. There are outdoor stairs to the home entrance. Guests with mobility issues may want to consider another house. Other things to note Safety alert: There is no fence between the yard and the canal, and there is a dock into the canal. The hot tub is not locked. Please watch all children. This house is in a lovely neighborhood off the beaten path. Turn down Colington Road near MP 8 and go 4 miles. It's about a 10 minute drive to the closest public beach access, which is Ocean Bay Blvd Beach Access at MP 8.5. Local restaurants include: The SaltBox Cafe, The Colington Cafe, Higher Grounds – Coffee and Ice Cream, Harbour Grill and Pizza, and TJs, which is a small market with home baked goods, food and beverage, household items, fishing bait, etc. There is also a fresh seafood market. Bugs: The house is by the water and there are bugs. Mosquitoes, palmetto bugs, midges, etc. We have the house sprayed monthly in season, during a changeover day. Pets: Up to two well-behaved dogs are allowed and must be on a leash when outdoors. We do not have a fenced-in yard. We appreciate you keeping your dogs off the furniture, wiping their feet when they come in (we have pet towels), picking up their poop (we provide bags), etc. We also have dog beds, toys and food / water bowls. There is an additional pet cleaning fee of $50 per stay that AirBNB adds to the total accommodation fee (you won't see that as a separate line item). Guard shack: This home is in Colington Harbour, a gated community. When you enter you will provide an address the the number of days stay. They will give you a pass.
