Description

AMARABEL is 23 km from the city of Bodoquena and 80 km from Bonito, at the bottom of the Salobra River valley, with crystal clear waters, where State Law prohibits fishing and where there is a private, easily accessible bathing area, where chairs and tables can be placed in the riverbed. The rooms have air-conditioning, TV and their own bathrooms! It has a large airy room, with ceiling fans, a gourmet space, integrated with a full kitchen, toilets and a privileged view of a large green area. The space Chácara Amarabel is located on the edge of the Serra da Bodoquena National Park, a region of great scenic beauty, internationally famous, especially for the sustainable and responsible tourism developed in Bonito! The Farm is usually used by us, the owners, family and friends, and has been structured with charm and in harmony with the local nature. The site has attracted the attention and curiosity of tourists who love the practice of activities in contact with nature, especially birdwatchers, canoeists and bikers. In April 2017, it hosted, for the second consecutive year, an important cycling event on natural trails (Serra da Bodoquena Mountain Bike Challenge)! In addition to being known for the crystalline waters of the Salobra River, the place also became known for the occurrence of specimens of the largest eagle in the Americas, the Harpy harpyja, known as the Harpy Eagle, which nested less than a thousand meters from Amarabel. Given the tourist vocation of the place, we decided to open it to guests who have sensitivity, know how to appreciate and respect this type of place! Guest access In the Chácara, there is a small cattle farming activity, separated from the headquarters by a small side road that serves other properties located further ahead. Beautiful landscapes can be seen along this road! In the part where the headquarters are located, open to guests, there is a large grassy area, the courtyard, which is surrounded by the riparian forest of the river, being very pleasant for various uses, including at night since it is equipped with lighting. From this lawn you have access to a stair trail, lined with stones from the region, which leads people to the edge of the Salobra River, in a shallow place, great for bathing, including children! In this place we usually put chairs and tables in the water to spend a good part of the day. For those who prefer to stay close to the house, on the lawn of the courtyard there is a shower and space for barbecue next to which you can have a good time. In the house there is a gourmet space with sink, iron stove, wood stove, and barbecue. In the main kitchen, we have a modern 5-burner stove, refrigerator, electric oven, microwave and various utensils for everyday use. We supply the gas for the stove. As the water in the region is calcareous, we provide mineral water for guests. The three bedrooms feature air-conditioning, TV and ceiling fan. In an office connected to two bedrooms, we have a sofa bed available. On moonlit nights, it's worth a walk through the courtyard and even along the side road. And on moonless nights, you can glimpse a stupendous starry sky! We have a couple of employees who live on-site and assist guests with general services. Other things to note SOME ISSUES DESERVE SPECIAL ATTENTION: 1) The internet in the region is very bad! To mitigate the situation with a view to enabling, primarily, basic and emergency communication, we installed a Starlink antenna. This means that there is no adequate signal for guests to use cell phones or other devices that require internet at the same time; 2) Rural power supply can be interrupted, especially during storms, which causes disruptions even to the internet. This situation is usually resolved on the same day, but not always. To mitigate such a situation, there are emergency lights in the main rooms; 3) Intense rainfall also tends to interfere with the level and cleanliness of the waters of the Salobra River, impairing bathing; 4) The law prohibits glass bottles and glasses from being taken to the river's edge, so it is important to think of alternative solutions; 5) Because we are in the rural area next to an unpaved road, the inconvenience of dust is inevitable, especially on days of greater tourist flow. Therefore, it is recommended that the windows, especially in the bedrooms, be kept closed during the busiest times for cars.
