Looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat while you travel or work in the Meadville area? Edgewood Guesthouse provides simple, tidy accommodations for up to three. Less than 3 miles to Allegheny College, Meadville Medical Center, Channellock, and downtown Meadville, our updated mobile home is a perfect home-base in a natural setting just outside of town. We're 10 minutes off rt 79, and a quick 38 miles from Erie, PA. 17 miles from Edinboro, PA (and PennWest University). The space Relax in the living room with your favorite book or sign into your streaming services on our Roku TV's guest mode. Three mini-split units allow you to customize your climate control in the bedrooms and living area with a/c in the summer and gentle heat in the winter. An electric fireplace in the living room provides extra heat when needed. Whip up a meal in our kitchen, or head out to enjoy one of the area's great casual restaurants. We're happy to provide local dining recommendations! Have work to do while you visit? Our secondary bedroom doubles as your home office with a full-sized desk. Guest access You'll have access to the entire guesthouse with the exception of the cleaners' supply closet, which is locked. There is a garage and also a shed on the property which are for storage and are not available for guest access. Other things to note Things to Know: The Guesthouse is not suitable for parties. Unregistered guests and cars are not permitted. We respect our neighbors' right to peace and privacy, and we live just down the road. Animals: Edgewood is aptly named- we are on the edge of the wood. You may see wildlife during your stay, including deer, groundhogs, skunks, squirrels, and more. Ladybugs, wasps, shield-bugs, and other native insects are common and one may occasionally find its way into the house. If the temperatures are above freezing, please take precautions against ticks before and after outdoor activities. Please do not feed or interact with any animals, and keep the door shut so that the wildlife stays outside. Mobility considerations: The house is uphill of the driveway with a few stepping stones but no paved path, and there six steps to the entry of the home, as seen in the exterior picture. Additionally, the shower/bath has a step for entry (see pictures). The guesthouse may not be suitable for some with mobility limitations. Children: Let us know if you'd like to borrow a pack n play and/or child-friendly dishware. Young guests are welcome, but the house and yard are not babyproofed, so careful supervision is necessary (please note that the lower part of the electric fireplace will become hot if you choose to use it.) The yard is not fenced. Smoking and animals: due to family allergies and asthma, this is a pet-free and smoke-free property. Smoking and vaping of any kind is not permitted on the property, inside or out. Not 420 friendly. Shopping: Walmart is 10 minutes away. Downtown Meadville is home to a variety of unique shopping experiences, including the historic Market House, Purple Fox games (specializing in board, card, and role playing games), The Green Shoppe, Ooh La La consignment shop, No Place Like Home Decor, and more! Grove City Premium Outlets is about 40 minutes south, and Erie (about 40 minutes north) has a wide variety of retail stores. There are several grocery options nearby, including Tops, Giant Eagle, Aldi, and a locally owned Valesky's grocery.
