Set on the hillside of our Somerset farm our new for 2024 Shepherds Hut has the most spectacular views reaching for miles across the rolling west country hills. Sleeping four in a comfy king size bed with two single bunks cleverly installed above it is the perfect family getaway and romantic couples retreat. The space One of two holiday properties at North Down Farm our wonderfully large shepherds hut has beautiful views, comfy beds, cosy wood burner, underfloor heating, and a fully functioning kitchen all in a brand new thoughtfully designed space. For outside entertainment there's half an acre of space, a dining terrace with fire pit and games. Inside there's some good old-fashioned board games, playing cards and a number of books. Perfect for a couples retreat or a fun break for a family of up to four the king size bed has two bunk beds above (suitable for children six years and over). We can also accommodate up to six guests in total, when The Cabin (sleeping two) is booked in conjunction with The Shepherds Hut. From the shepherds hut you have the most stunning uninterrupted views across to both the Blackdown and Quantock hills. Set on the edge of Exmoor just outside of Wiveliscombe this is a glorious spot is the perfect location for a wonderful escape. A huge draw for walkers and cyclists Exmoor and the Quantocks are in easy reach and the North Somerset coast just 25 minutes away. Located just inside a designated 'Dark Skies Area' North Down Farm is the perfect place to star gaze as an expert astronomer or just appreciate the spectacular night sky. If you are visiting May-September pack your swimming costumes, there is a lovely outdoor pool in Wiveliscombe just 3 minutes drive away. Guest access The shepherds hut and all of the space around it. Other things to note Whilst a peaceful setting guests should note that The Shepherds Hut is on a working farm on which there is also a game shoot with regular days September - January. The Shepherds Hut is in its own section of field, parking is at the top of the driveway and there is a short walk of about 30m across grass from the parking area. It is very dark at night as we are in the middle of the countryside, we suggest brining a torch. We also have a Labrador called Fred and two primary school aged boys. We welcome one well behaved dog
