Introducing Maison Drew Location: Magog, a picturesque town in the Estrie region of Quebec. The house is close to all commercial and cultural activities. It is located a few meters from the Old Bell Tower and the Merry House. History and Context: Maison Drew is a historic building, dating from the 19th century, and is a valuable testimony to the architectural heritage of the region. It belonged to the Drew family for several generations, it is now the property of the Dessalines family (Rochenel & Esther), a Canadian-Haitian couple who recently settled in Magog. The house has been carefully preserved and restored to maintain its historical character. Architecture: Style: Maison Drew is a typical example of the residential architecture of the time, often characterized by elegant details and wooden construction. Features: It features traditional elements such as small-pane windows, solid wood doors, and decorative carved wood details. The cottage consists of 5 large bedrooms including 2 suites, each with a shower or private bathroom comfortably furnished. Conservation efforts include preserving original materials and repairing old architectural elements. Current Use: Maison Drew is a cottage with owner-occupiers, a guest house or family-type inn offering a pleasant space, a nourishing and delicious breakfast.
