Escape to our rustic retreat in the serene countryside. Unplug, connect with nature. The barn is part of the main house but separated. Access to bedroom 1 is via bedroom 3 (there are no doors between these spaces) and there are two sofa beds in the barn. This is a non smoking property and garden. Please note we are set up for children over 5 years only. We do ask guests to take off their shoes inside the property. We do have a couple of cats who may pop in to say hello. The space Bedroom 1 Nestled within the barn, this bedroom is a haven of tranquility for those seeking rest and connection with the natural world. At its heart is a platform bed crafted from reclaimed wood beams, embodying sustainability and comfort. Wood floors add warmth to the room, while a large star-gazing window invites guests to admire the night sky's beauty from the comfort of their bed. The use of natural materials and a serene color palette enhances the peaceful ambiance, making it the perfect retreat after a day of exploration. The Lounge and Widescreen Cinema Room This multipurpose space is designed for relaxation, socialization, and entertainment. Wood pillars and a majestic stone fireplace dominate the room(please note this is not on use), Soft, eco-friendly rugs on the floor and sustainable furniture pieces offer comfortable seating for guests to unwind. By day, natural light floods the space, making it ideal for reading or lounging. By night, the widescreen cinema setup provides an immersive movie experience, complete with energy-efficient technology, all nestled in a room that celebrates traditional craftsmanship and sustainability. Please note this is part of the main house. Only those booked to stay are able to be in the property. Strictly no parties. Eco-Conscious Amenities throughout the Barn, sustainability is the guiding principle. From energy-efficient lighting and heating to the use of rainwater harvesting for the garden, every detail has been considered to reduce the environmental footprint. 3 car parking spaces Bus routes to Oxford are a short walk and are every 30 minutes until 2-3 am. Parking is available for up to 2 cars. Thames Pathway is approximately 2km away. Faringdon cars are based locally. Guest access You will have exclusive access to the barn, including the sky view room with platform bed, homely hearth, very basic cooking facilities which is part of the barn main room and cinema room by day which transforms to the second bedroom with two sofa beds by night. Your exclusive shower and bathroom is short 10 metre walk as part of the private space. It is accessible through the door connecting to the main house, past the dining room and left down the corridor. Other things to note Strict No Smoking - The property and garden are smoking fee. No Under 5's - Please note we are unable to cater for children and infants under 5 years old at this time. We have 2 cats. Please note if you have a cat allergy we cannot guarantee that the cats won’t have been in the room. We endeavour to ensure cat hairs are removed but cannot guarantee this at all times. Sustainability Commitment - We up-cycle, offset carbon, capture & re-use rainwater, purchase from sustainable products from suppliers for our electricity and cleaning products. Caring for Nature - We invest time & effort in cultivating a natural & beautiful garden. We ask guests to treat the garden with respect including sticking to pathways, and driving / parking on the gravel only. The installation of a ground source heat pump significantly reduces the property’s carbon footprint by offering an efficient heating solution. Our plans to install solar panels further underscore the barn's dedication to renewable energy, supplying clean power and ensuring energy self-sufficiency. In the realm of water conservation, the implementation of a rainwater harvesting system reduces dependence on municipal water supplies by recycling rainwater for gardening and other non-potable uses. Additionally, the choice of low-energy LED lighting throughout the property.
