Within a 10-minute walk you can discover: - The Grange aux Moines Educational Farm and a hiking trail. On the outskirts of La Ferté-Alais, the Grange aux Moines farm welcomes you with its animals, on an estate of nearly 12 hectares. Since June 2004, the Grange aux Moines Farm has featured a reception room for rent, an educational room, games for children, equipment for picnicking or relaxing, and many activities throughout the year. Programs are announced on the blog. Having become an important tourist destination in Essonne, the Farm regularly receives schools and leisure centers from Ile de France, and will delight young and old. The Ferme de la Grange aux Moines won the Grand Prix du Tourisme d'Ile de France in 2005; HIKING TRAILS La Ferté Alais, gateway to Gâtinais, has always been a crossroads for hiking. It is true that our small town is not lacking in remarkable assets. Close to Paris (RER D) with its famous GR11 along the Essonne River, the hiking trails will fill you with joy and discovery. Along the hiking trail, along the sandstone quarries, near a field of sweet clover or peas, at the top of a sandstone, the hiker will discover a region of character. One itinerary among others is offered in collaboration with the City of La Ferté-Alais, the PNR – Gâtinais Regional Park and the FFR – the French Hiking Federation: La Ferté-Alais train station (RER D) is a 10-minute walk away, you can easily get to Paris. The city center and all its shops are also within walking distance via a secure pedestrian path. You'll also be able to discover THE WASHHOUSE Built in the mid-19th century, to reduce the development of major cholera epidemics that plagued the region. The washhouse that you can discover was restored by young people from an international work site solicited by the municipality during the summers of 2002 and 2003; NOTRE DAME CHURCH The Notre-Dame church dates from the 11th and 12th centuries. It is a protected and classified site, recognized as a historic monument by Prosper Mérimée in 1862. Built on the old church dating from the 11th century (whose roof was supported by a wooden frame and which had neither a bell tower nor an apsidal), small external buttresses remain. The changes made did not affect the dimensions of the building but the elevation. The nave rises towards the sky, the bell tower and its high octagonal stone spire are built. These two phases of construction rank Notre-Dame among the exceptional buildings of the transition between Romanesque and early Gothic. In the bell tower, a clock was found. It is of English manufacture and dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. AROUND US - the Verrerie d'Art de Soisy-sur-École, 12 km away - Château de COURANCE 12 km away - The Forest of Grand Avaux Champcueil for beautiful walks, and a well-deserved stop at the Chaumière du Télégraphe, an atypical pub-restaurant with glass roofs and a terrace in the middle of the greenery, a must-see place to eat or drink. Please note, reservation required. - The town of Milly la Forêt - The ponds of Vert-le-Petit Guest access The home is easily accessible by car or from La Ferté-Alais train station (10/15 min walk from the train station to the home) Other things to note The home is not suitable for people with limited mobility, due to the stairs leading to the bedroom/living room. Your little companions are welcome, the private garden is enclosed so they will be safe.
