Description

Enjoy your stay away from the main tourist strip. Only 15 min drive to Lazi and 25 min to San Juan. This beautiful and clean native hut is located in the mountains surrounded by nature. The hut has a loft area for sleeping, private bathroom, kitchen area and lovely terrace with seating area, garden view and privacy. The owner lives in the premises in a separate house (will meet and look after you during your stay) together with the friendly pets Mango, Micky and Morito. The space The hut is made of native materials (mahogany wood, cumbal walls and nipa roof) which makes the place cooler as the materials do not retain heat. There is no air conditioning in the accommodation but there is a fan in the sleeping area. Guest access Guest have access to parking and garden. Other things to note The accommodation is situated inland/mountain area of Siquijor in a village called Cang-atuyom away from the main road and the convenience and social activities of the tourists strip of San Juan. A mode of transport is a must to get around. The last portion of the road leading to ‘kamalig’ is unpaved and made of loose limestones which can be challenging to novice and nervous drivers. The location is in a farming community, remote but not isolated. There are people going about their daily lives, animal noises, occasional karaoke and the annual disco fiesta (mid September) at the village center. Siquijor is still a developing island. There are no shops for groceries nearby. The nearest place to get food and essentials is in Lazi. Or further out to Siquijor, San Juan and Larena towns. There is no taxi/grab service in Siquijor. Motorbike/car can be rented directly at the ports (Siquijor and Larena), pick up and drop off. A tuktuk service can be arranged in advance depending on availability if required. Major resorts and some establishments ie restaurants, cafes and grocery stores accept credit cards but mostly everything is in cash. There are ATM machines on major towns. There is no Wi-Fi in the accommodation but Globe mobile network data works well in the area.
