Delicous breakfast provided and walking distance to the centre. Two other queen rooms, a double and single can be booked individually or as the whole house. A Woodend landmark since 1860, Islay House B & B is newly restored and effortlessly blends history with modern expectations. Perfect for a retreat. The space Red Room, once red, is now a calming white! Situated at the front of the building, with all windows double glazed, it enjoys views over the street and elegant elms. Step back to a relaxing time of conversation and connection. Enjoy the space with books, games, views and musical instruments in the sitting room, morning room and gardens. Breakfast is provided and we encourage guests to try local restaurtants, bars and cafes for lunch and dinner. Hampers can be ordered in advance. A glass of wine in the garden or by the open fire, a book by the window or a wander by the creek. Islay provides an environment to relax and rejuvenate. Guest access Guests not only enjoy their own room but the comfortable sitting room, sunny breakfast room and expansive oak-shaded gardens. The pond is 'dippable' in the hot weather! We do not have a guests' TV as conversation, games and relaxation are our priority. Free Wifi and keyless entry are provided for personal access. During your stay Clive and I live at the rear of islay House in what would have been the old bakery. We are on hand for any questions or queries. You will have keyless access and come and go as you please. We encourage our guests to explore the town's restaurants, cafes, wine bars and shops and can arrange a hamper if desired. We enjoy a chat with our guests over a wine, over breakfast or passing in the garden. We are happy to share our stories and you choose how much time you would like to share with us. Other things to note It is only a short 5 min walk into Woodend township. Over the creek to bars, brewery, boutiques, wine bars and shops. A farmer's market on the first Saturday of the month and only a short drive to numerous wineries and local attractions such as Hanging Rock. We have an abundant veggie garden and you are invited to pick raspberries in season. Our two dogs, Australian Bulldogs, we keep separate from our guests, but they love a pat if you are a doggie person. Our girls, six chooks are a relaxing site as they chook around the garden.
