Spacious and comfortable basement space with separate entrance includes one bedroom with full-size bed , living room and kitchenette area, desk/work area and bathroom. Greenwood Ave is just 1 block to public transportation and convenient to everything! Lovingly cared for space perfect for one guest. The separate basement entrance makes it private. Free WiFi access, two tv's with one Roku box for streaming, mini-fridge, full-size fridge/freezer, Keurig coffee maker, microwave and geothermal heat and a/c make for a comfortable stay. The bedroom features a full size bed. There is a full bathroom with shower/tub and a desk/office area if you have any work to do. Guests enter the private basement space by using the basement entrance. There is also a washer/dryer available for use. There is ample street parking and guests are asked not to park in the driveway. If there is no parking places directly in front of the house, there is parking available on the opposite side of the street. Please do not go into the separate storage area in the basement or in the garage, these areas are used by the other residents of the house and are private. We are always available by text and glad to assist with any questions/issues/concerns. The space has a separate entrance and lockbox check-in so you have the convenience of coming and going at your convenience. We provide a booklet with useful information about getting around and some of the cool events that take place in Takoma Park, please take a moment to familiarize yourself. We are conveniently located one block away from public transportation on Flower Ave. Washington Adventist College and Washington Adventist Urgent Care are just 3 blocks away and an easy walk. Downtown Takoma Park and the Takoma, DC Metro station are about 1.8 miles away. Beautiful Sligo Creek and Long Branch Creek are both just a few blocks away and feature walking/biking trails and playgrounds for your enjoyment. Downtown Takoma Park has great restaurants and events and every Sunday year-round there's the farmers market to check out. Also close by are the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Coop and Giant grocery store as well as several cool restaurants. For even more local restaurant and entertainment options, Silver Spring is conveniently located just 10 minutes away via bus. The public bus is just one block away on Flower Ave. and runs between the Takoma, DC and Silver Spring, MD Metro stations, both are about a 15 minute bus ride. Street parking in front of the house is available if you have a car and there is also parking across the street. If you have out-of-state tags you will need to move your car at least once every two days due to a county regulation or you may receive a warning. If you are visiting from outside the area we recommend using Reagan National Airport (DCI) in Northern VA., then you can use public transportation (metro train & bus) and be conveniently dropped off within one block from the apartment. If you are arriving at BWI airport you will need to arrange transportation from the airport. There is a shuttle service that can pick you up and drop you off (google search Super Shuttle for more information). If you are arriving at Dulles airport you will need to take a shuttle to the Wiehe–Reston East Metro Station, from there you can connect to the Red Line at the Metro Center Station. Public transportation to downtown Washington, DC takes about 30 minutes from the Takoma or Silver Spring Metro stations. Silver Spring is conveniently located 10 minutes away via public transportation. If you are arriving via car, we provide a SmarTrip card for use on Ride On busses, Metro busses and Metro trains. The card is pre-loaded with at least $10. If you use the card please add the amount that you used back onto the card for our next guest. You can add $ value at any Metro train station as well as on any Ride On bus. If you are arriving via public transportation (plane-train-bus), you will need to purchase a SmarTrip card, available at any Metro Station via vending machines. Please leave our SmarTrip card with the keys when checking out. The space is non-smoking although you are welcome to smoke outside. Clean linens are provided at check-in, however we do not provide additional clean linens during the remainder of your stay. You are welcome to use the washer/dryer during your stay if you want to clean the linens, detergent is available for your convenience. Kitchenette includes plates, glasses, silverware, sink, detergent and sponges are provided as well as complimentary bottled water, coffee, tea, instant oatmeal and breakfast bars. There are recycling containers provided for clean paper waste and glass/metal containers. Please note, due to zoning regulations we are not allowed to have a stove/oven in the space.
