Our Airbnb is a charming period cottage, fully refurbished in 2022. With its cosy living space and 2 bedrooms, it's a perfect home away from home. In the village centre, you'll find shops, takeaways, and a friendly pub overlooking a picturesque pond. Just 2 miles to Keele University, and 4 miles to Newcastle-under-Lyme for shopping and entertainment, incl. a cinema. It is ideally located for exploring the Potteries, Alton Towers, Peak District, and North Wales, all within easy driving distance. The space Our period cottage (dating from around 1700) consists of living room, kitchen, study space, upstairs landing, main double bedroom with queen bed, second single bedroom, and fully-fitted shower room. It was empty for many years but in 2022 it was fully refurbished from top to bottom and made into a comfortable home expertly mingling its unique period features with all modern comforts and necessities. We provide a basket of breakfast items such as: bread, preserves, fruit juice, eggs, milk, butter and cereal. Just let us know if you have any special dietary requirements! Note: This is a period home and, as such, there are some little quirks to be mindful of! There are some low ceiling beams in a couple of places, and two lower than average doorways. There are stairs (as pictured), and one tiny step in and out of the two main bedrooms. Additionally, the original tiled floor in the living room is something to be aware of if you have small children. Much of it is covered by a rug, but there is still the possibility of a boo-boo! House Details: Front door leads into a small porch with cupboard (containing cleaning supplies, storage, coat hooks, etc). Porch leads into Living room. Living room comprises period features such as exposed beams and original fireplace (containing an electric stove). Smart TV with Freeview, Netflix, Prime, etc, and DVD player. There is also a selection of DVDs, games and books. Study space beneath the staircase in the living room, separated from the seating area by a feature wall, part-panelled with original wattle-and-daub. Desk and chair with desk lamp and stationery, perfect for working or studying! Kitchen leads off the living room, and consists of a bright new fitted kitchen with integrated fridge, washer-dryer, microwave, built-in oven and ceramic hob. Cupboards are furnished with cutlery, utensils, plates, bowls, cups, glasses and cookware. There is also a round pub table with two stools for cosy in-kitchen dining. Upstairs: The upstairs landing has the unusual feature of a high beamed ceiling and stained glass windows. Doors leading to main bedroom, second bedroom, and shower room. Main bedroom boasts a queen-sized double bed with a Victorian-style metal frame and a very comfortable mattress, along with dressing table, bedside table and bedroom chair. The second bedroom comprises of a single metal-framed daybed, a bedside table, and a small wardrobe. Feature stained glass windows. Fully-fitted shower room features a generous curved shower cubicle with power shower and rainfall showerhead. Light-up mirror above sink, with vanity unit, W.C and heated towel rail. Outside there is a small cottage garden to the front. Parking is available on the pavement outside the front of the cottage, OR alternatively on the host's driveway by arrangement.
