South Hobart Haven
South Hobart Haven
Description
Recover and rest in this secluded Tasmanian haven. Immerse yourself in the gaze of the forested foothills of Hobart's mountain - kunanyi. And being only 11 minutes drive from Hobart, make this your getaway base camp. Experience the sense of a bush escape close to the city and it's stories. Settled in it's native habitat, South Hobart Haven is self-contained, offering privacy and sunny, step-free access. We look forward to welcoming you for this part of your Tasmanian adventure. The space A suburban property, access is gained up a 40 metre driveway and guests are able to drive right up to entry deck. There are no sets of stairs to negotiate - access is at the one level. Unlike most of the neighbouring properties no fence was built towards the forest aspect. This makes @southhobarthaven a wildlife corridor and as such it will be unusual for guests not to see wallabies and other small tasmanian marsupials - on occasion even the shy Eastern Barred Bandicoot. Please reduce driving speeds on night-time approach as animals are often likely to pass into the roadways. On dusk and in the early morning guests can often see animals moving to or from their daytime forraging terrain. Animals may even wonder up onto the decks around the house during the night. Note the animals are all shy marsupials but should be left to their own devices (no - they don't have screens - yet!). Guests should note that we share the property with these animals and therefore should watch their step ;). Also please note the gravel area right in front of the shed is a vehicle turning area only. Cars should not park there:). Guest access Guests are able to park their car immediately in front of the entry deck. One additional vehicle is allowed but should be parked behind the first vehicle. Guests are able to utilise the front and back decks but please keep to uphill side of the screen on the back deck. If more deck chairs are required please ask. As the property backs immediately onto the forest - or what we call 'the bush' - guests may choose to go exploring - it is a beautiful forest and there is plenty to discover. Note that whilst informal path networks exist they are often uneven and have loose rocks and branches to navigate. For the exploring of the bush the wearing of shoes is advised - this is the Australian bush. Other things to note Tasmania's tap water has won awards for its taste, including best tasting water in Australia in 2016. The tap water at southhobarthaven is accordingly reliably clean and fresh straight from the tap. As such there is no need to further filter or purify the tap water. In this day and age that is something pretty special. Registration Details Exempt: This listing falls under the 'home sharing' exemption
