Our traditional timber cabin is nestled within the charming countryside of North-East Essex. This rural retreat for two promises a perfect blend of comfort and convenience making it ideal for a relaxing break. The cabin stands alone in our garden with lake and rural views. From the cabin, scenic walks and cycling paths with vast open skies beckon. Nature enthusiasts and dog walkers will be thrilled by the birds and wildlife in our area and the stunning views around the local lakes. The space The comfortable cabin has its own secure enclosed garden with privacy fencing on two sides. It's well insulated with a bedroom offering a King size bed, a bathroom with a shower, and an open plan kitchen/dining/living area. The fitted kitchen provides an oven, small hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and general kitchen utensils. Tea, coffee, milk and bottled water are provided on arrival. The cabin offers free wi-fi access with a smart TV, and outside there’s a table and chairs to enjoy the birdsong. A short 5-minutes' stroll from our garden takes you to the picturesque Alresford Creek, overlooking the River Colne, where you join the Wivenhoe Trail with views looking out to Brightlingsea Church and Fingringhoe Wick Nature Reserve. Birdwatchers will enjoy the diverse bird species, from majestic birds of prey to goldfinches, goldcrests, and wading birds. This is a haven for those seeking a genuine connection with the great outdoors. From our location you can escape to the country with shops and amenities less than a mile away, including a selection of take-aways, a pub and a Post Office. The convenience of being just one mile away from the train station opens up a world of exploration, with easy access to Wivenhoe, Colchester (Britain's first Roman City), Clacton on Sea, Frinton on Sea and Walton on the Naze. We are only 55 miles from London, so you can take the train from Alresford to London and arrive in 1 hour 20 minutes. The University of Essex is 3.4 miles away and Brightlingsea is only 5 miles (10 minutes by car). Dedham Vale and Colchester Zoological Society are approximately a half-hour drive. We are fortunate to be within a short driving distance of a variety of local pubs and restaurants for lunchtime or evening dining, and bicycles can be securely stored in our locked garage which is near to the cabin on request. We have our own sociable Golden Retriever so we are always happy to welcome one friendly well behaved guest dog. Two well behaved small dogs will be considered on request. Our internet speed and mobile reception can be variable because we are situated in the countryside. Electric Vehicle charging is available locally at Alresford Village Hall. The cabin is ideal if you're seeking a peaceful retreat, an adventure in nature, or a romantic countryside getaway. Guest access Guests have access to a patio and lawn area. To access the cabin there is a private entrance with a gravel path. Other things to note You will be situated within our garden in the countryside and near to the parking area of a fishing lake. There are occasional mechanical and road noises, country noises (such as peacock calls in the Spring and Summer), country smells and family noises. Like many other rural properties in the Tendring District our water is sourced from a borehole.
