The Toad Rock Stop

The Toad Rock Stop is on Harmony Street which hosts the wonderful Toad Rock and is a well-known tourist spot because of the bizarrely shaped rock (actually sandstone) outcrop that has been weathered over the millennia into its current shape. There is a friendly Pub "The Toad Rock Retreat" at the bottom of our drive that serves food. We are set in the village of Rusthall close to Tunbridge Wells (25 Mins walk) Where you will find the historic Pantiles as well as shops and restaurants The space Your Room with an Ensuite Shower This is a private space just for you with its own access and is suitable for a maximum of 2 people. There is a small fridge and tea and coffee facilities within the room. (There are cooking facilities available for your use in another building) The room is on one level, please be aware that there is a step up into the main door. Everything is new for 2024! A king-size bed with a “2500 Luxury British wool pocket sprung medium pillowtop mattress”. The sheets and bedding are a cotton-bamboo mix. The quilt is “Hotel Soft Cotton 10.5 Tog”. The pillows are “Hotel Soft Cotton Medium”. Ensuite Shower Room The shower room is new for 2024 with a rain shower and an additional shower head. We have provided Faith in Nature toiletries for you to enjoy during your stay. Additional Facilities There are basic cooking facilities available for your use, in the building opposite should you wish to use them. In this area, you will find a hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and a few basic cooking utensils. The cooking facilities will be exclusively for your use. (We do not cook in this space) please note that there is no oven. This is a shared space, (our laundry room) but the cooking facilities (Hob, Toaster, microwave) are for your use exclusively. Outside Space There is a small courtyard outside your room with seating. Please feel free to make the most of this space. We provide outdoor cushions for the seats. This space is for your use exclusively however we may need to walk through to gain access to the outbuilding. Guest access Your room and Ensuite are exclusively for you and are separated from the main house. You have your own door so you can come and go as you choose. There is a small courtyard outside the room that you can enjoy if the weather allows. Opposite your room is a kitchenette/laundry room. Where you will find basic cooking facilities (HOB, Toaster, microwave, and a few utensils). This is a shared space but the cooking facilities are exclusively for you and your use. There is a space for you to park 1 car at the house but the drive is long and narrow. You may have to reverse back down the drive as there is not always space to turn at the house. Therefore you may prefer to park on Harmony Street. There are no parking restrictions in this area. During your stay I like people and am happy to have a natter should you wish to however, I am also happy to leave you be if that is your preference. If you do need anything when you are staying with us please ask. We will help if we can. I will always aim to respond to you as swiftly as possible. Please be aware that we do have regular doggy visitors and you could be greeted by a dog on your arrival. Please let us know if this is not comfortable for you and we will ensure they are tucked safely away. Other things to note Public Transport There is a bus stop at the top of the road with buses running every 15 minutes into Tunbridge Wells town centre and the train station. Pubs and places to eat nearby include: There is a friendly local pub at the bottom of the driveway. This may be a great place to grab a bite to eat. The Toad Rock Retreat Pub (1 minute walking). Here you should find good pub food and a warm welcome. The Spa Hotel (12 minutes walking, 2 minutes driving) The hotel bar and restaurants are open to non-residents and you can get day passes for the spa. The Beacon (15 minutes walking, driving minutes) The beacon has the most amazing views, and it always feels like quite a treat to go. The Daily Bread café in Rushall Village. This is one of my favourite places to grab some lunch or breakfast. (15 minutes walking, 2 minutes driving) The other end of Rusthall village is the A* Café. Offering fried breakfasts and traditional cooking. And of course, Tunbridge Wells has a whole host of venues to eat and drink at including the Historic Pantiles (24 minutes walking, 4 minutes driving)
