Stunning views from huge private balcony of beach, bay, vertical cliffs and large village of Playa San Marcos. Amazing sunsets, different every evening. Quiet, non-touristy location. Pleasant traditional apartment with some homely touches. NB: This is not a dedicated holiday let - please ensure you read the full description and all photo notes before reserving ;-) The space Note! This is not a dedicated 5* VIP a/c holiday flat! It is my long term rental home when on the island with some personal effects in it which you can mostly use and a few small improvements on the to do list! Please read full details on every photo before booking so the place and your preferences are matched as far as possible ;-) Location: This is in the north of Tenerife, and no its "not colder in the North" unless you count a degree or two difference. Its much nicer, more green and more authentic than the touristy dry south west package-tour area. The port village of San Marcos 7 minutes down the hill has one small supermarket, pharmacy, four restaurants and two bars. It has a small grey volcanic sand beach with a lot of big boulders. The small town of Icod de los Vinos is 5 minutes up the hill by (hourly) bus or taxi. The big town of Puerto de la Cruz is worth a visit 30 minutes to the East. The apartment is accessed down a steep slope or up a lot of stairs and the entrance hidden away, so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Rooms and Occupancy: the place suits couple sharing or a single person, however there is a single Sofabed in the lounge and an inflateable single bed so its possible to sleep 4 in total. The actual arrangement may VARY from the range of photos taken over time. This is one of my two homes and is rented from a nice German landlady who also owns three apartments below and above in the block of 6 in total allowing the option of a group booking. It has my personal effects in it so the cupboards and drawers are not empty (!) and most of which you can use. The left bedroom cupboard is locked and some luggage etc is on top. Condition: I have made various improvements however the terrace planters are old and broken and due for replacement, the giant chair needs repairing and in the bathroom a few new chrome features. It does NOT have air conditioning, though it has two fans, with option of loan of small cooling unit by arrangement. The string pulls for the office blinds are due for replacement. Nature: though pretty rare, if as is normal on the island if windows and doors are open part of the day or night, it is possible that a (harmless) salamander or gecko or mouse may visit and leave some small droppings. Guest access The apartment including the terrace is for sole use of the guests. Other things to note This listing used to be a primary listing by my landlady Sonjaanna with me being the co-hist. Its now relisted by myself with a selection of good reviews which can not be transferred shown in the photos.
