The Cowshed @ Whitecroft Farm

The Cowshed is a beautifully converted barn that offers a comfortable and well equipped base to explore the Isle of Wight. We are within the Isle of Wight National Landscape (formally AONB) with direct access to miles of footpaths and bridleways, stunning beaches, award winning restaurants and cosy pubs. The Island’s attractions are all within an easy drive. We do have a local bus service but a car is recommended for greater flexibility. This is a self catered property. The space The Cowshed has medieval origins with thick stone walls and stunning beams visible in the living space. There is a large lobby suitable for safe storage of bicycles and muddy boots. A well equipped kitchen and open plan living overlooking the orchard makes dining in a pleasure. There is a comfy reading spot with a two seater sofa and extremely comfy Ercol chairs. There is a Smart TV, don’t forget your passwords! It does have Freeview if you don’t have subscriptions and just want terrestrial television. There is a kingsize bed in one bedroom and a second twin bedded room gives flexible and comfortable sleeping arrangements. There is a shower room and separate loo, both with heated towel rails. Sliding doors lead to a private decked area overlooking the natural pond and orchard with views to the surrounding fields. We are blessed with a plethora of birds and you may see the local red squirrels who live all along our lane. Please note there is a single step up into the property and a further step from the lobby to the kitchen. We are just 2 miles from local supermarkets and there are a number excellent farm shops locally. We are situated on a rural, single track lane (with passing places). Off road parking is on a private driveway that is separate to the main house. Our farmhouse adjoins bridleway N110 and there is a bus stop a short walk away. The boiler, providing heating and hot water, is electric, hence no carbon dioxide alarm fitted but there are heat and smoke alarms. Additional portable heaters and fans are available.
