The space Maniero is our home and our favourite place in the world — and from June through October we open it to one group at a time for proper, unhurried, exclusive-use luxury villa holidays. This is not a hotel, not a shared resort, not a villa complex. When you book Maniero, you book the entire 4-hectare estate. The pool is yours. The padel court is yours. The arcade, the sauna, the pizza oven, the olive grove — all yours for the length of your stay. The main villa sleeps 18 across 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. Six rooms have two single beds each, two have king beds, and everything is air-conditioned, high-ceilinged, and designed with a mix of Italian craftsmanship and Dutch-inspired interiors (Amber is Dutch, Fabrizio is half Italian — our aesthetic is somewhere in the middle). There's also a separate apartment opposite the main villa with one bedroom, a bathroom, and a cozy living space for two more guests — perfect for grandparents who want a bit of privacy or an au pair travelling with the family. The estate itself is built for how families and groups actually want to spend a holiday. The 20-metre pool is big enough for a proper swim, lazy enough for a float, and surrounded by our "Little Onion" and "Tajine" lounging nests that we named after they started getting fought over. Right next to it is the jacuzzi. Beyond that: the private padel court (professional standard, night lighting, equipment provided), a full beach volleyball court on real sand, an indoor gym, a sauna and wellness area, and the indoor arcade hall with billiards, basketball, air hockey, darts, and a one-vs-one arcade. When the kids are tired of that, there's a fully fenced playground with a trampoline. When the grown-ups are tired of entertaining, there's an outdoor cinema, an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven, and the kind of long-table dinners under the pergola that turn into four-hour affairs without anyone noticing. What makes this place different from other luxury villa rentals is the pricing philosophy. €3,000 per night, flat rate, all year. Cleaning is included. Taxes are included. Linen, pool maintenance, wifi, parking, use of everything on the estate — all included. No peak-season doubling, no surprise cleaning fees, no "extra €400 for the padel court." We got engaged in 2021 and spent a year planning a Tuscan wedding that taught us how hidden-cost-heavy the luxury villa industry had become, and when we built this place we decided to do the opposite. One number, one contract, no games. The location is one of the under-known secrets of Italian travel. We're in Le Marche — the region directly east of Tuscany and Umbria, still flying under the radar internationally but every bit as beautiful, with the added advantage of the Adriatic coast 25 minutes away. The medieval hilltop town of Montecassiano (where we get our name) is a 10-minute walk down the hill. Macerata, the provincial capital with its incredible summer opera festival at the Sferisterio, is 15 minutes by car. The famous beaches of Sirolo and Numana on the Conero Riviera are 25 minutes. Ancona airport (direct flights from much of Europe) is 40 minutes. If you want a day in the Sibillini Mountains national park, that's about an hour inland, and the wildflower bloom on the Castelluccio plateau in early summer is one of the most astonishing landscapes in Europe. A note on who Maniero is really for: we're at our best hosting one group who genuinely like each other and want to spend time together. Multi-generational families. Groups of friends travelling with young kids. Padel enthusiasts who want a private court for a week. Couples bringing parents or siblings for a reunion. We host a maximum of about 10 groups per year because that's how we can actually care about every single stay. If that sounds like your kind of holiday, you'll feel right at home here. We live on the estate year-round with our two kids (Abigail and Freddie, six and four, our tiny and very bossy "managers"), so when you stay at Maniero you're staying in our actual home — with all the care and attention to detail that implies. Guest access You have full exclusive use of the entire 4-hectare estate for the duration of your stay. We're always available if you need us but entirely out of your way if you don't. Think of us as concierges who happen to be your neighbours for the week.
