Beautiful country cottage in a picturesque location with charming views situated on a public footpath leading to some of the best country walks within the North West. Blackbirds Cottage is a detached spacious two bedroom both en-suite holiday home situated in the heart of Douglas valley, within a ten minute walk to the idyllic village of Parbold which has three country pubs, a wine bar and cafe. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife you’ll be sure of a relaxed, private and peaceful stay. The space Blackbirds cottage has recently been fully renovated to a high standard. The cottage is situated at the back of a large Farmhouse on beautiful gardens in the countryside. It has a spacious living room, lavish open plan fully equipped kitchen diner, utility room, dedicated work area, two en-suite bedrooms super king (available as twin room on request) king room both with high quality showers fitted. Large outside area with seating, bbq and direct access to the country side walks. Very private, tranquil location set away from road noise. Guest access The feature photo is the main house on the property. The cottage is situated across the courtyard with wonderful privacy. The full area past the last set of gate posts is what the guests are free to use. This area links perfectly to the fields behind for direct access to all the walking routes. Entrance to the cottage is via the walkway to the left of the building. The front of the building has bi-folding doors which can be opened wide for nice summer days, or for easy access to the living area showcasing the panoramic views of the countryside. Other things to note We have baby cribs and cots available for young children as well some some basic essentials such as baby bottle sterilisers, bottle warmers etc. (Please request on booking) All dogs are welcome and free to roam around but if they have a tendency to hunt they need to be controlled as a lot of wildlife settles in this area which makes it very magical especially early morning in the summer. You will see Rabbits, Hares, Deer, Pheasants, ducks, an army of crows in the trees and even baby kestrels nesting early spring in in the barn behind, which after leaving the nest live on the ground around the cottage for about 2 weeks before learning to fly. The lawns around the property are riddled with wildlife very early mornings. It’s a spectacle to see if you catch it. Please make sure your dog is well behaved and doesn’t interfere with the wildlife otherwise use a lead. This is the heart of the valley with a water source that attracts a lot of wildlife and is very magical when you catch the moment.
