Welcome to this idyllic retreat in the middle of the mountains of Northern Portugal. Here you will find absolute tranquility, breathtaking scenery and a unique proximity to the Peneda Gerês National Park. Enjoy the various tourist attractions, such as river beaches just 1 km away, natural lagoons, trails, and home-cooked restaurants. The space The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 living/ dining room, and 1 toilet. There are two semi-detached houses. The house that corresponds to this listing is marked with "B". Outside there is a barbecue and terraces with stunning views of the mountains and the river. The house is located in a small neighborhood that once served as a base for workers and an old (now deactivated) power plant belonging to EDP, the most popular company in the energy sector in Portugal. It is situated on a mountainous slope, offering a breathtaking view over a part of the Peneda Gerês National Park, since it is situated at one of its ends. This makes it the ideal place for anyone who wants to explore the many wonderful places this huge Park has to offer. We are talking about natural lagoons of all sizes and shapes, river beaches, historical monuments (the famous Misarela Bridge can be found just 15 minutes from the house, on a highly recommended mountain walk), and countless mountain trails. Guest access The exterior of the house includes 2 terraces, laundry and office in Annex C, garden, barbecue and private parking for 2 cars for guests of 2 houses (space 1 and space 2). The vehicle that parks first must occupy space 1 in the exit position. The second vehicle must park in space 2 in the exit position. This rule does not apply when only one house is inhabited. There are no reserved places. When guests leave a terrace, they must leave that space clean, tidy, and not leave personal belongings. Other things to note After check-in, the guest must check that everything is as expected and inform the Host by message via Airbnb, as well as communicate any questions. During the stay, guests must immediately report any anomalous event or incident to the host. In this way, the host will give directions on how to proceed. In the house there is a book with basic and general information and rules and another with information about places to visit. The host cannot be held responsible for any wi-fi, electricity or water and sanitation breaks. In the event that it happens, the guest must immediately notify the host. - The hot water may take a while to come out, especially the first time it is used. It may occasionally malfunction due to a lack of gas. If that happens, you should let the host know, and they will provide you with instructions on how to proceed. - No parties allowed. After 10:00 p.m., noise should be kept to a minimum. - The host is not responsible for any internet or television outages. However, if that happens, please let us know. - Monteiro's Gerês Countryhouse is located in a protected natural area, where biodiversity is part of the Experience. Occasionally, you may notice some insects, such as bees, in the vicinity, especially during the warmer seasons. Inside the houses, the atmosphere is comfortable and secure, and most guests enjoy their stay without any inconvenience. For your convenience, we also provide a bee and wasp repellent that can be placed on the outdoor tables during meals. As a bonus much appreciated by our guests, there are no mosquitoes in the area, which allows you to enjoy late afternoons and evenings outdoors in complete tranquility. Registration Details 136971/AL
