The rare "Kame no O" rice is grown naturally in beautiful rice fields with the highest quality water, and after being harvested, it is sun-dried and naturally dried. This "Hasagake Rice" is cooked in a Kamado (traditional Japanese stove) using firewood and an iron pot). Enjoy a relaxing life with not only a kamado, but also a sunken hearth, a Goemon bath, a wood-burning stove, and a fire. The space It is a B&B style accommodation with breakfast included for 1 night. It is limited to one group per day, but it is not a private rental. There will be staff on-site from 7 am to midnight. Age and number of guests It can accommodate up to 5 people over 10 years old. [Staff hours] There will be staff on-site from 7 am to midnight. [Hut] A 150 year-old thatched house. It is a wooden building that retains a strong traditional feel. Although we take maximum measures, insects can be found in the warm season. In winter, it is cold and drafts can be a concern. Dinner There is no dinner. Please use the restaurants in town. [Breakfast] This is sun-dried and naturally dried "Hasagake rice" grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers (JAS organic certified). We will provide rice cooked in a kamado or earthenware pot, homemade miso soup, and other side dishes made with local ingredients. [Bathing] You can enjoy a Goemon bath heated with firewood. Please let a staff member know if you wish to use the Goemon bath. It takes a little less than an hour to prepare the hot water. You can bathe until midnight (if you only use the shower, it is available anytime). [Bedroom] The bedroom is a Japanese-style room with tatami mats. Please sleep on the futon. There is a pellet stove in the bedroom. Please leave the operation of the stove to us. Winter season To protect the building from heavy snow, a "snow fence" is installed during the winter. During the period when the snow fence is in place, it is dark inside the building, and the sliding doors and shutters cannot be opened. Experience winter life in the traditional snow country of Akita. Guest access In principle, the kitchen, the storage room, and the room with the fireplace for the Goemon bath are not accessible as they are the backyard. Please feel free to use anything else.
