Lilly Lodge is the perfect retreat for the keen angler. The striking, zinc-shingle clad lodge, sits on the bank of the specimen lake, which is home to common and mirror carp (the former of which go up to 41-lbs), as well as tench, bream, and roach. With your own private deck only a couple of paces from the entrance doors to the lodge, you can even fish from the comfort of the sofa, whilst catching up with your favourite series on Netflix! The space Lilly Lodge also makes for a romantic couple's escape, with its private hot tub overlooking the serenity of the lake and fire basket on which to toast marshmallows. Enjoy the night sky, unaffected by light pollution, glass of wine in hand. Sleeps: 3 - The double bed nestles invitingly into the back of the lodge with premium quality mattress, bedding and linen to ensure a good nights sleep. - Sofa bed, which will accommodate one guest. Please note that due to the width of the lodge, it is necessary to turn the sofa 90-degrees to fully extend the sofa mattress. Interior: Kitchen/Dining: - Electric, four ring hob. - Oven/grill - Undercounter fridge with small freezer compartment - Toaster - Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine - Kettle - Belfast sink and drainer - Kitchen bin - Cooking utensils - Crockery and glasses - Cutlery - Saucepans, frying pans, wok, baking trays, roasting tray, pyrex dishes - 2-seater dining table and chairs - Electric heater Ensuite Bathroom: - Light-up mirror - Shower - Toilet - Sink - Towel rail - Hairdryer Living Room: - Sofa bed - Smart TV (which is on a bracket, so can be swivelled to be watched from the bed also) - Wifi Exterior: - Private garden, comprising largely chippings with stepping stone slabs and framed with thoughtfully-planted railway sleeper flower beds. - Dog-friendly (garden is fully fenced on three sides, apart from the front elevation, which opens out on to the lake). - Charcoal barbecue (charcoal not provided, but can be purchased on site). - Fire pit (logs not provided, but can be purchased on site). - 3-person electric hot tub. Parking: - Parking for one vehicle adjacent to your lodge. If you wish to bring more than one vehicle, the second can be parked in the car park. Dogs: - We accept a maximum of two well-behaved dogs, for which there is a pet fee of £20 in total. - We kindly ask that dogs are not allowed on the furniture. We will make an exception with the sofa if guests are courteous and bring with them a clean dog blanket, which generously covers all seating/cushions. - Please do not allow dogs to swim in the lake. The lake is clay-lined, which makes for quite a mess when they get out! We are, however, close to lots of lovely dog walks, including alongside rivers, which are great for doggy swims! Fishing: - Fishing is £15 per 12 hours, or £25 per 24 hours. - You are able to fish directly from Lilly Lodge. - Lilly Lodge sits on the bank of the specimen lake, which is home to common and mirror carp (the former of which go up to 41-lbs), as well as bream, tench and roach. Fishery Rules: - You must have adequate coarse fishing experience. - We ask to see your rod licence and reserve the right to refuse fishing in the event that you cannot, or will not produce one, either as a hard copy, or digitally. - Nets, cradles, mats and slings to be dipped in aquatic disinfectant for 15-minutes before use. - Barbless hooks only. - No keep nets. - Must have at least a 42" landing net. - Must have a large cradle or landing mat. - No tiger nuts, peanuts, cat meat, lures, spinners, treble hooks, or fake baits, such as plastic corn. - No braid. - Rods must be manned at all times and within close distance. - Please have carp care spray available to treat wounds and abrasions. - No wading. - If taking a photograph with your catch, do so in a kneeling position rather than standing. - Return fish to water gently and as soon as practicable after being caught. However, once on site, we have security/sensor lighting around the lodge, aiding access to the lockbox. Other things to note For stays of 3 nights or greater, we include the following: - A complimentary bottle of Prosecco - Lindt truffles (one per guest) - Coffee pods for the Nespresso Vertuo machine - Robes - Face masks - Balloons and/or rose petals on the bed for special occasions (please advise if required) Regrettably, it is not financially feasible for us to include these items on a 2-night stay.
