Summer Place is a family-owned beach house in Arniston, one of South Africa's most sought-after holiday villages. Built in 1895, it occupies a prime position, commanding spectacular views of Arniston's bay, pristine coastline and historic fishing village. The house was recently renovated and combines understated comfort with the charm and simplicity of an old-style Cape house on the sea. The space Summer Place has five bedrooms, three of which are ensuite. Two bedrooms share a family bathroom with a separate shower. Four of the bedrooms have double and queen-sized beds; one bedroom has twin beds. The front 'stoep' is the main living area, with an outside terrace for sun-lovers, and a fireplace for winter evenings. It includes a six-seater dining area. The main dining room is the core living area of the original house. It connects with a large well-equipped kitchen, through a 'gangkamer' with stairs to the upper part of the house. The two upstairs bedrooms (both ensuite) share a quieter living area for those wanting to work or read. Summer Place also has a large, private back garden, for braais and seclusion from the sea breeze. Summer Place has no TV, but you can stream to your device. If there's a big game on, we like to enjoy it in convivial style at the hotel pub. Guest access With the exception of a few locked cupboards (which are marked), guests have access to the entire property.
