The Llama Lodge - private country guest house

We are a family of 5 from the northern beaches in Sydney who made the tree change in early 2020. We bought a blank canvas, a 6 acre lucerne paddock and built a family home, planted countless trees, added a tennis court, and a beautiful little farm cottage to share our experience with others. Our brand new guest cottage is located on our property, where you can enjoy the fresh air and the company of our pet llamas, Melman and Pudge and twin goats, Peanut and Waffles. Drive past the main house and around the shed/barn to find a private free standing cottage, with your own parking area and entrance. You can access the cottage with a keys left out for you. You are welcome to use the full size tennis court and basketball hoop, with equipment stored in a box on the court. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. The main bedroom has a queen size bed, and the second bedroom has a double bed. Both bedrooms have quality linen and electric blankets for those cooler Orange nights. Please note that if booking for 2, we only make up one bed. The 2nd bedroom may be closed off. If you prefer to use 2 bedrooms for 2 people, then please book for 3 people as an extra nominal charge applies to cover cleaning and linen. If more than 2 people, please select the correct number of guests when booking. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, vanity, heated towel rail and heated tiled floor in winter. We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and a blow dryer. The kitchen has a fridge, oven, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, and all the utensils and crockery you need. You can also enjoy a hot coffee or tea with a Nespresso coffee machine in the cottage or visit The Providore café in Millthorpe for a true barista style experience. The living area has (non reclining) lounges, a smart TV (where you can access your media accounts) , and a selection of board games. You can also cozy up by the log fire, or use the reverse cycle air conditioning for heating and cooling. The cottage has free Wi-Fi, and a dishwasher, washing machine, outdoor clothes line, iron, and ironing board for your convenience. During the winter months, we provide a few logs and kindling for the indoor fire. Bunnings and BP sell additional firewood should you wish to have multiple fires. Outside, you can relax on the veranda, and meet the friendly llamas and goats who love a pat and love to be fed (we leave food for you). You can also enjoy the lovely views of the countryside, whilst watching the pretty sunsets we get out here. The cottage is located only 5 minutes from the very quaint Millthorpe village, where you can find a few small cafes, cellar doors, a fine dining restaurant, pub, a small variety of shops, and an IGA for essentials. We are located 18 minutes from Orange sports fields, and 20 minutes from Orange CBD, where you can enjoy more dining and shopping options, as well as wineries, orchards, and festivals. There are also many other attractions nearby, such as Lake Canobolas, Mount Canobolas, and Ophir Reserve. Note: Children are very welcome but we do ask that you watch them around the animals - The goats love a pat and will nibble on your clothes. Melman our white llama will come over to sniff you and will happily take a pat but he is a large llama. We look forward to welcoming you to The Llama Lodge, and making your stay a memorable one. Guest access Parking for your stay is located at the end of the drive, behind the cottage. Guests are welcome to use the area around the cottage and the tennis court - entry is via the gate which is in front of the small shed. Please do not enter the front paddock or the back paddock for your safety. The llamas are naturally very curious and they may charge towards you. All other areas are used by our family and we would appreciate your consideration to our privacy.. this includes the orchard, the vegie patch and the chickens and around the main house and surrounding land. Thank you :) Other things to note Our base rate is for 2 guests staying in the main bedroom. There is a nominal charge (based on per person) for using the 2nd bedroom to help us cover the cost of linen, cleaning and laundry. Please be sure to select the correct number of people when booking. :) If you wish to use the 2nd bedroom for 2 guests, please select 3 guests so that the 2nd Bed is made up and available for use.
