Gretel Cabin

Gretel is a cozy cottage nestled in the peaceful woods of the U.P. Soak in the silence, bask in the tranquility and dwell in the serenity only Michigan's U.P. can afford. Enjoy a short stroll down to the lakefront, where a beach, fishing docks, swimming platform and incredible sunsets await. Gaze upon the pristine Stanley Lake and its bountiful wildlife, with mesmerizing calls of the loon, island resident bald eagles, and fishing galore! Ski Brule is a 5 minute drive away. Welcome to Gretel. The space Cozy two bedroom cottage nestled in the woods, a very short walk away from Stanley Lake. Fully stocked kitchen with appliances and dish ware. Main bedroom had a queen size bed and the second bedroom has two twin beds. Couch does not pull out. Sliding glass door to a porch in front of the house. Charcoal grill for guest use along with a fire pit. Gretel guests may use the shared lakefront, swimming area and 16 foot "licensee" dock. Stanley Lake is an "all sports" lake so feel free to bring your boat or jet ski (boat launch is down the street on Stanley Lake Drive). Make yourself at home! **2026 Update** - Note that the local association recently terminated the cable TV subscription at the resort. Gretel now has a Smart TV with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, etc. Guest access Access to the house is via a lockbox with a code. Guest can use the entire house and yard, which has a fire pit out front. Gretel's guests can walk down to and enjoy the shared lakefront, beach and swimming area, but are requested to use the 16 foot “licensee” dock for fishing and docking boats, etc. Stanley Lake is an "all sports" lake. Feel free to use the charcoal grill as well. Other things to note Stanley Lake has great fishing. There is a fish cleaning house which is open during the summer. Each cottage at Lac O Seasons has a designated dock for fishing and docking any boats. Gretel guests may use the 16 foot “licensee” dock, but are also free to enjoy the entire shared lakefront, beach and swimming area. There is a public boat launch a short distance down the road. Ski Brule is a 5 minute drive away. Snipe’s pub is a very short drive or even a walk away. Make your way into town for grocery stores and anything else you might need. Grab a pasty at The Pasty Corner or a top notch dinner at Alice’s Supper Club! The smallest town in America with a brewery (Alpha Brewing Company) is a short drive away as well.
