The space An exclusive iconic hotel with only five rooms, located in a 16th century mansion in the heart of the historic center of the World Heritage city, San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Step through its centuries-old wooden doors that will take you to the cozy central courtyard, presided over by the camellia that gives it its name. Upstairs, there are five spacious rooms, carefully decorated combining period furniture with modern touches. Guest access Guests staying at our Hotel Emblemático La casa de La Camelia, have access to the central courtyard where diners gather in the restaurant El patio de La Camelia. At the back of the house is the best kept secret of our hotel, the backyard or old orchard. A courtyard reserved for our guests where they can enjoy leisurely breakfasts, reading and relaxing moments. Other things to note La Casa de La Camelia treasures many stories. One of our favourites is the manuscript Costumes of the Canary Islands, by Sir Alfred Diston. The illustrated work by this English traveller, who settled in Puerto de la Cruz in the early 1700s, reflected the customs and habits of the inhabitants of the Canary Islands and served to publicise the culture and traditions of our archipelago in the United Kingdom in the 18th century. Its detailed illustrations have served as a reference for many artisans to recreate the typical costumes of the period. Today they decorate our rooms in homage to this valuable legacy inherited by the last owners of this house, descendants of Sir Alfred Diston, and which was last seen within these walls.
