Description
A superbly designed new conversion of an Arts and Crafts building. The Stable Block is a unique setting for a peaceful get-away or a family holiday. With views to the Sugar Loaf mountain, the house brilliantly combines the historic quirks and character of the building with all modern comforts and amenities. Whether you're looking for a comfortable base for exploring Monmouthshire or a restful break in front of a wood-burning stove, The Stable Block is an ideal location for a great holiday. The space A modern architectural conversion of a grade II listed building, The Stable Block is in the grounds of a larger house and next to a working stable, with horses and a donkey. Overlooking the Brecon Beacons, the property is a light-filled space with its own garden area adjacent to fields. You enter through the front door to a spacious hallway with a picture window to the countryside beyond. The main living area has a kitchen with induction hob and dishwasher, with a dining table to seat six. French windows lead out from the kitchen to an outside seating area with a table and benches. The old sliding doors have been converted to rotating louvres against a glass wall - a very special feature, which allows for light or privacy. There is a large comfortable sofa and two arm chairs around a wood-burning stove but the property benefits from underfloor heating and is well-insulated throughout. There is a large double bedroom on the ground floor and a spacious accessible bathroom complete with walk-in shower and comfortable bath. The 'tack room' provides another exit to the car-parking area and plenty of space to hang coats and park wellington boots. Up the stairs there is the 'Hayloft', a large double bedroom with a door out onto a balcony which, if you're lucky, enjoys the early evening sun - perfect for an aperitif before dinner! On the other side is a twin bedroom and between the two rooms is a smaller bathroom, with toilet, wash basin and walk-in shower. Guest access The entire property is for your personal use as well as the garden space immediately around the property, terrace and balcony. There is a designated parking space adjacent to the house. The other out-buildings, wider garden and main house are private property, including the working stables that connect to The Stable Block. Other things to note The Stable Block is on the ground of a larger property that is in use by other people. You will drive past this house to gain access to The Stable Block but we ask that you are respectful of the privacy of this property. Guests are also reminded that there is a working stable next to the property and, whilst it is well-insulated, you maybe able to hear the occasional scuffing of hooves in the ground room bedroom.
