For 1 night contact host (price+35%) The space The owner of The Pondhouse, Lilis & Peter completed the construction of this unique rammed earth wall villa under the guidance of architect Madir Shah in 2023. It serves as their home but guests are more than welcomed to share this architectural marble in a small paradise. All walls were built from local soils and are rammed by hand! Carefully designed shaded porches, the green roofs and natural ventilation system provide a very comfortable interior climate without the use of air conditioning. To ensure environmental friendliness only local construction material were used like stones from surrounding rivers or hills, volcanic sand, bamboo, Indonesian sustainable teak and ironwood, and marble from Makassar. The earthen walls, the tranquil surrounding and the sound of a waterfall creates a peaceful atmosphere. Lilis & Peter are happy to share with you the way they live: you may want to lay back, relax and just enjoy the whisper of the pond, enjoy the 360 view on the roof deck with the sea in the background. Don’t miss out strolling through our carefully tended garden embedded in an orchard of over 40 mango trees and find other exotic fruit trees. Or go for a swim in the pool, cool down in the spa pool or if you dare join Peter for a swim in the pond, a pond which is already theming with life after a few months in operation. Lilis carefully selected everything one needs for feeling at home here, from table ware to bed sheets, from cooking ware to an ECM espresso machine which our barista is more than happy to operate for you. With her many years of custom service experience and a busy schedule at hand, Lilis still finds time to daily stroll through the garden to find things which end up on the dinner plate. All members of your team are locals, carefully trained by Lilis and are dedicated to make you feel at home here. Guest access Feel at home!
