Cedarwood Cottage at Newfound Lake

Relax with family and friends at this cottage at Newfound Lake, offering a rustic, but modern retreat. You will enjoy a 2-minute walk (400 feet) to an open, sandy beach on the lake with picnic tables, grassy areas for games, tiered sandy beach area with sun and shade, and large roped swimming area with a raft. Newfound Lake boasts crystal clear, spring-fed, water and beautiful views. Restaurants, kayak & boat rentals are nearby. Enjoy hikes and leaf-peeping in fall, and snow sports in winter. The space Cedarwood Cottage was built in 1969, and renovated from top to bottom in 2024 with an eye for detail and great care to use natural, non-toxic materials, such as cedar, pine, slate, and stone. The smell of wood bathes you in another time and place, both as you approach the house from the outside, as well as rest inside. You will relax into this restorative, natural space. It features a big front cedar porch with rustic rockers. It has central air and heat, but if you leave the windows open, you may hear the loons calling. The quiet of the night here is a welcome change from the noise of town. New skylights and sunroom windows add plenty of direct light. The kitchen has beautiful hickory cabinets, granite counters and new stainless appliances including a dishwasher, fridge with ice maker, stove, microwave, and all the dishes and Greenpan cookware you will need to enjoy beautiful dinners in the sunroom. For summertime grilling, there is a Weber gas grill on the side deck. There are two living areas: the main house has a quiet reading and breakfast area, and the new 16x18 addition has a sectional, dining area, and a wide screen tv for rainy days or family movie night. The three bedrooms are cozy, yet accommodating. The primary bedroom has a king size bed and big cedar closet, the guest bedroom has a queen bed and closet, and the kids' room has 4 twins and a beautiful refinished mid-century dresser, all with supportive mattresses and tasteful bedding. The two full bathrooms (one has a walk-in shower, and the other has a tub with shower) are clean and inviting. There are new wide plank pine floors downstairs and refinished original floors upstairs. A slate and wood mud room provides space to leave coats and shoes. Keypad access allows for easy entry. Guest access We provide a personal access code for side door.
